VAG Economy Brake Pads

Featured Replies

Just got a quote for rear pads from Skoda and got two prices:

Standard: £39.19

Economy (still VAG branded): £24.53

Does anyone have any experience of the economy ones? Are they any good? Pads are the only thing I buy from the dealer because everyone elses always seem to be carp.

Pagid pads & discs are OEM, been using them for years & they're a really good price from Eurocarparts at the moment.

Car parts 4 less are cheap too.

Pagid stuff is excelant for the money.

I don't want to get cheap on the brakes part.

Exactly my feelings, Iulian.

The words "brakes" and "cheap" shouldn't be allowed in the same sentence, imo.

Neither should "tyres" and "cheap".

Pagid brakes are brilliant. Lots of manufactures use them as OEM.

Euro Car Parts and Car Parts 4 Less are the same company pretty much.

Pagid brakes are not considered 'cheap'. Would you prefer them to be double the price? Would it make them better?

Snobs.

Lol

Still someone has to make money some how. So if they were twice the price they would be ok?

Thats daft. Love the way people wont touch cheap brakes or tyres that are actually perfectly good and more than capable but yet they will put cheap tatty coilies on their car?

lol

Gotta laugh.

Op unless your loaded and want track use pads like ds2500, pagid stuff is fine and stops you well.

Forget price, fact they are cheap is irrelevant

Hang on, you are all assuming that the Economy pads are still Pagid...

Nobody is saying that there is anything wrong with OEM Pagid stuff. But TPS do an "Economy" range, which is what, exactly????

Ditto on Pagid, excellent for the price, always used them, as has been said above Pagid make brakes for a lot of oe outhere.

I don't know who make the economy pads, but as the Pagids are cheaper, I wouldn't even look at TPS economy ones

Branded Pagid pads are circa £20-£25 from ebay

Know exactly what you're getting then

I'm running TPS Pads & discs in my Fabia, I asked for economy on both but I think only the pads were available? Anyways, they're better than whatever the supplying garage put in it which warped very quickly and gave me no confidence!

Chatting to one of the guys in my local TPS the other day, & he was telling me that Audi don't endorse the VAG economy range of service parts!
