Just thought I'd introduce myself!  I'm Tom from Derbyshire and I've joined up as I'm going to enter the world of Skodas for the first time within the next few weeks hopefully!

 

To cut a long story short I've owned many cars over the years and have recently finished the build of a Corrado VR6 that is currently serving well as my daily driver.  I've also built a Corrado TDi in the past and had plenty of other VAG stuff...Polos, Golfs, more Corrados, Ibizas etc amongst other stuff.

 

I have decided to get myself a fairly decent daily driver to take the heat (or cold?) off the Corrado through the winter and one that will also fulfill other duties nicely such as carrying my bike, or chucking stuff in the back when going camping etc so I've decided to get an Octavia TDi estate.  I've got about £3k to spend, give or take, so I'm not expecting anything massively flashy, but it'd be nice to get something of reasonable mileage and in reasonable condition so I can just enjoy using it.  An L&K PD130 would be nice but I'd settle for a tidy 110TDi if the right one came along!

 

Anyway, it's good to be here, I'll disappear off and get better acquainted with the forum :-)

You don't live down Chadd park road do you? I'm sure I keep seeing a sexy coloured Rado VR6 there.

Welcome...from  an ex Golf VR6 / V6 4-motion / 53 plate Mk4 R32 / 56 plate MK5 R32 with DSG owner which I was fortunate enough to own all from new and all total spec with all the option boxes ticked on every one fantastic cars all 4 loved every minute of owning and having as daily drivers......not all at the same time obviously !! .......then decided to move to Madeira and now own a 2002 Fabia 1.2 MPi Comfort and what a lovely car it is too if someone had said I would own a Skoda of any model 10 years ago I would never have believed it.. I doubt you will be disappointed with any Skoda as a daily driver

I'm based up near Ambergate so not the one on Chadd Park Road however I know the one you mean, I work in that area and I've seen it around.

 

It didn't take me too long to find the car - its a 2004 54' L&K PD130 Estate :-)  Got it for a reasonable price and its got a decent amount of history with it.  A few bits and bobs to sort out but nothing too major, I'm looking forward to getting stuck in with it :-)
