Laurin & Klement PD130 Engine Modding ?

Featured Replies

I have the comparison video a little further up :)

My car sailed through its mot, no probs at all :)

Not too worried about MOT as I have a dodgy guy who will pass as long as its just emissions. The thing is sound! Mild steel sounds deeper on a petrol but not sure on a diesel?

I may go with a custom build from my mate, but, im only doing a stage 1 remap for now so I could just keep the oem setup and change the exit tip so it looks better (Vanity, lol). But then id need to cut the end bit of the pipe to make it straight. I know I could just leave it as is, but I think that a modded car really needs the pipes sticking out the back! If I see a car with no exhaust pipes then I thing, BORING! Am I just being old fashioned?

Really, I just want rid of the diesel 'rattle' ;)

Here's a video from castle Combe. Check out 1 minute 45, my car does a drive by :)

Jesus! Sounds like a spitfire :) Just the sound im going for, lol My old manta had a  2.5" straight through and sounded like that did from behind, but from the front, lol. I got pulled once and blagged the copper my exhaust was blowing and he believed me, lmao ;) What pipe were you rinning there?

Watched the vid a few times now and while the Piper sounds good, the 'muffelectomy' has a nicer engine sound. The think is it sounds like its farting at low revs. I take it the 'no silencer silencer' was stainless? How do you think a mild steel would sound? might get rid of the 'chirp'?

That is the piper turbo back system with no silencers. It's stainless :) I guess its a mufflerectomy of sorts as there's no back box, just sounds better than the other mufflerectomys I've heard

Charlie, did yours have a centre box?

Im guessing no? As I said, the second one with the 'silencer with no silencer' sounded better except from the chirp. Was that stainless?

Nope no centre box. Not sure what a mild steel exhaust would sound like
