Featured Replies

Does anyone have any photos of they're depo projector headlamps with they're lights on using 4300k, 6000k and 8000k please?

I'm unsure on what colour I want to go for.

Cheers,

Ollie

Go for 4300k or 5000k MAX anymore and they look rubbish!!

I have one on my photobucket of mine with 4300k and they give a nice white glow shame I am over my bandwidth or I would post it.

What bulb type are they?

Will they still give a purple blue look on different angles? Also bulbs are D2S

6000k is the best for that look, that's what I use.... Can't you just use H7's in then as well?

Not being stupid, but what are D2S, i thought bulbs where like tom says, H7, H1, H4 and so on  :wonder:

I'll have a go at answering that lol

Xenon model is for the factory fitted xenon headlight which are d2s bulbs the projector headlight. For halogen are h1 and h7 headlights are non projector (I think)

Found some on my Facebook that I can use

They look rather blue but they aren't it's just how the camera shows them up.

Thanks for some photos southy. I take it the middle photo is more the colour they look like in flesh?

Do you get a hint of different colours with 4300k? I mean like when you see bmw's with projectors etc coming towards you and you see white, blue and a bit of purple as it goes past

Here's another in the daylight, they totally transform the front end of the car and add more class to it and make it look so much nicer.

Yeah the middle pic is for the colour they look in the flesh, you get hints of blue and purple from the lights when looking at certain angles, mainly see it when they are relfected back off a black car's bumper when behind them in traffic.

I would say 4.3k, I used to have 6k and they just looked too blue.

Also I would spend the extra and get decent quality ones, a friend of mine got a cheap ebay hid kit with 4.3k lamps and for some reason they where bluer than my 6k kit.

Thats brilliant thanks! :) I'm stuck between 4.3k and 5k.

6000k.

Such a hard decision! lol I think I may try 5k I guess i won't know exactly till i buy them and try them.

I have a slim HID kit at the mo. So i just need to buy the d2s adapter and d2s bulbs?

I've got a HIDs direct kit. Same question as above really?

Do the adjusters need swapping out of the standard lights?

I've got 6k. Looks gash, too blue, cheap & tacky. Nice 4.3k ones in my mates looked wayyyyy better.

Thanks for the confirmation :)

on my old ibiza i had 6k and they were indeed too blue, then i changed them to 4.5k and looked much nicer :)

So weve come to the decision that 4.3K are the ones to have, which if you have a HID kit already, you just need to buy D2S bulbs and adaptors?

Yep, and if you don't have a hid kit I presume you just need the d2s kit or hid kit with d2s adapter

Although not Depo headlights, I fitted a 4300k HID to the OEM projector headlights in my Roomster and IMHO they are the closest to OEM in terms of colour.

Couple them with a set of these Phillips LED sidelight bulbs  (15% discount & free sidelight (halogen) bulbs code in the FREEDOM section) that are a perfect match colour wise. Other LED sidelights are too 'white' against the 'warm white' of the 4300k HID's.

HTH

Ive got 5k, too blue but look OKAY. Go 4300k. Ill be changing soon. The 5k in my projectors are the same colour as the 6k HIDs i had.

The closest you can get to sunlight the better the lighting performance.

4300k vs higher will offer better lighting performance than say 6k and so on.

4300k seems a nice compromise almost white.
