Rear passenger door won't open :(

Featured Replies

Looked at threads already to try and do it... so basically fob won't open it and both handles won't open it.

I've tried opening the handle while pressing the fob

I've tried using the key to do central locking manually

I've got the door card off without breaking any clips :)

Yanked the hell out off the cable

pulled the door pin mechanism

Unplugged and re-plugged the wiring connector

Wacking the door where the lock is

Hitting the mechanism from the inside

So I've come to the conclusion that my door is 'deadlocked'

Child lock was on as irritatingly it's the door that we put our baby in to his car seat and moving the car seat to the other side makes no difference as then passengers can't get in...........................

Very Annoying

So how do I get the lock off?

You will need to inject 12v into it to release the deadlock.  Not sure which pins though, but you are a good way there if you have the door card off

Anyone know which ones? I assume you mean unplug it and then manually stick in a wired 12v? is it pre earthed or do I need to be putting in live and earth wires?

I think that rwbaldwin is your man. I would imagine it was negatively earthed, so you would just need to stick 12v into the correct wire.  A search on here will probably find the answer.

You can use a pin and push that through the insulation (saves moving the plug, and having to do the same for the earth).

yes yellavrs has a good guide, and you can do it manually without 12v, i wont go into detail as his post covers it!
