09 vrs diesel body role

Featured Replies

Does any1 else have priblems with there octavia vrs diesel feeling like the back ends going to kick out as taking corners at speed? Thinking lowering will sort this out? Any thoughts and no im not going stulid speeds to make it kick out

Thanks

its a bit wobbly and not the best handling car in the world. A set of eibach springs will help massively

A rear arb will also improve things

Was looking ateibach springs would u just change springs though? Also this rear arb is that the type that sits on the backend under the car? Not to sound to stupid

Cheers

yea. They dont have them as standard

Eibach make kits designed to work with the oem dampers. Ive got a set which keep the oem ride height but up the weight it can carry by 250kg and as a bonus it rides much better and handles better

My pov spec 105 estate has a RARB.  Do the vRS not have them then?

The original one is gone and I have a Whiteline adjustable on mid setting.  Precisely to deal with the problem the OP mentioned.

Reduced rear roll, slight power on oversteer, which feels just right to me.  Higher corner entry speed, power on at apex and line tightens and away you go.  Feels ultra safe, secure and above all comfortable.   Never a hint of snap oversteer taking over.  I guess if you lifted off, it would revert to speed scrubbing understeer.

Ryan, you got a part number for the rear kit?  I noticed the car has a bit of a list to starboard, could be a broken spring or my lardy butt over the years.

ive never seen an arb when ive looked under the car unless its hidden.

I dont have a part number no. The kit i've got is called the cargo kit and was developed for the Octavia estate police dog vans. Not really ment to be sold to the public

Cheers guys for the information

I've never had that, its more front end heavy, so under duress it wants to go straight on - that the only issue I've ever had.

The vRS has a roll bar front and rear. A lot of people upgrade the rear one for a thicker stiffer one. It reduces body roll and helps to reduce under steer. Along with a stage one remap, probably the best band for buck mod you can do. Thoroughly recommended.

That's called understeer, and increasing roll stiffness at the rear decreases it.
