vacuum reservior pipe broken..

Featured Replies

Hi guys..

Hope someone can help.

Changing cambelt today and when moving the vacuum hoses i heard a click sound and turns out the pipe that goes to the vacuum reservior has split i think..not sure its totally broken. Temporarily stuck some silicone in there to seal it but can you buy the pipe seperately from the reservior or can you use any vacuum hose?

Or has the reservior got a certain connection to it?

I take it you mean the pipe from the vacuum pump to the servo reservoir.

You can buy the pipe separately. Check the whole pipe and tape up any dodgy bits. Get new pipe from Skoda asap £25ish. Dead easy to fit, leaks on the pipe mean vacuum loss and intermittent or no servo action on the brakes.

Sorry im talking about the black ball thingy at the front of the engine. If thats the same as what you mean?

Ok thanks just wondered if the pipe just pops off or if it is part of a connector.

No not the same thing. Sorry don't know the answer to your query.

Just put a screw in the pipe mate you don't need it I have broke mine and put screw it and drives no different been on two rolling roads since I broke it and its still pulled the same power as before I broke it

I know the one as I changed my timing belt yesterday. Which end has it split on, the vacuum box end or the ball end?

Is it just a split pipe or have you damaged the plastic nipple bit the pipe pushes over?

Its the ball end thats damaged.

So the hose that goes into the vacuum reservior isnt needed? Im sure it must have a purpose? Ive ordered a new one from skoda for £11 so just for peice of mind.

Are these easy fit does anyone know? Remove old 'ball' take hose out put new 'ball' on and hose back on?
