  • Great day Jason, thanks for organising. The two Brisky sessions were good and dry too! By comparison the first open session I did an hour later was wet, we (myself and Sparkly's brother) watched th

Not liking the long range forecast, but hopefully will be OK on the day.

Rain? :)

Doesn't bother me either way, but I expect they'll change their minds about the weather daily.

I'll take it a bit more seriously the evening before.

Well atleast if it's going to rain, I won't need to wash the car on friday :D

I should revise the above, as it's not technically correct.

It should say, well atleast if it's going to rain, I won't need to take it to the local car handwash place for them to wash it on friday :D

Hmm I'll hold off swapping the wheels for now then. Hopefully it'll be dry

if it rains, bring your wellies as  two years ago the briskoda stand got incredibly muddy.

There's no telling what the weather will be like at Combe ... its got its own weather system....

And Superbs come with an umbrella  anyway

Right as we are a bit last minute.com, what is the crack guys?

we will be towing down from here, what time do we need to be at the track?

how long are the sessions so we know how much fuel we need to bring etc, can we swap around, ie Luke drive first session and I drive 2nd?

this is what we are bringing along btw

140bhp 1600, 16v on bike tb's 6 speed straight cut box with lsd.

Sessions 15 minutes

Generally most people will arrive on the stand between 8 and 9.  Because you are towing (you are in essence taking up 2, maybe 3 car spots), there might be a space issue, but we normally have overflow room, and I know there's a spot the other side of the circuit most people stash their trailers once vehicles have been dropped on the clubstand   :)

It might be best to get in early to drop the car off and take the tow vehicle and trailer to the place many leave them during the day.  Marshall should be able to point you in that direction.

As long as both of you do driver briefings, and have one session card each (the ones highlighted with time on) when you go for briefing, no worries.

They look much the same as a 888 or RSR so doubt there'd be an issue

Don't want to count chickens yet but it looks like heavy rain overnight Friday so I think I will bring some boots as even if not raining on the day I am expecting a muddy stand area.  I probably won't wash my car :D

Tidy, yea could drive it there but it gets a bit tiresome and noisy, it has tax and mot etc.

Remember the sound test limit for Combe is 100db (A)

I suspect the tiresome noise for the Felly is probably the gearbox :D

Wonder if a car has ever failed a noise test because of it's gearbox?

Wonder if a car has ever failed a noise test because of it's gearbox?

Last time I was there it was a static test at something like 2/3 max revs in the scrutineering bay, so noisy gearboxes, stereos or passengers shouldn't be a problem.

I don't recall them having a noise meter trackside, though that doesn't mean that they won't.

Yea we used to have to do noise test with the clutch in on the Estelle, otherwise the noise meter would pick up the whine of the gears. Felly passed noise around 92db at the last rally so should be fine at that

What time you guys meeting up at the circuit? (Apologies if I've already missed this post!)

I'll be staying over in Swindon the night before so only about 20 minutes away.

Most will be arriving 8am to 8.30am. :)

Who is heading down on Friday from the North West and at what time?  Is anyone planning a Combe Convoy (Combevoy?)

Jason, I am just back from Belfast today and not been home yet, will check the envelope for the guest pass, hopefully I have just missed it as it doesn't look like the others.

Feel left out that I will be running road tyres! Will have to hope for a downpour to level the playing field.

Most people will be on road tyres other than the die hard regulars that get a bit carried away...

At this rate weather wise, it'll be a decision on the day whether to switch to the 'not strictly legal' rubber on my track wheels or tun the road tyres.

We'll see!!
