  • Great day Jason, thanks for organising. The two Brisky sessions were good and dry too! By comparison the first open session I did an hour later was wet, we (myself and Sparkly's brother) watched th

I'm on road tyres anyway... the only debate is if I put my Michelins on to finish them off, or leave the still relatively heavily treaded Uniroyals on.

Well, Uniroyals are advertised as the rain tyre...

Exactly... if it's raining, they'll be staying on. There's only a mm or so tread left on the Michelin Pilot Primacy on my other wheels...

I'd always run a worn tyre over a nearly new one.

Too much tread depth and the blocks start to move around and damage/heavilly wear the tread.

Hence a lot of track tyres start with 5mm or so.  Compared to 8mm on road tyres.

Who is heading down on Friday from the North West and at what time?  Is anyone planning a Combe Convoy (Combevoy?)

Jason, I am just back from Belfast today and not been home yet, will check the envelope for the guest pass, hopefully I have just missed it as it doesn't look like the others.

Feel left out that I will be running road tyres! Will have to hope for a downpour to level the playing field.

ME, what time Sparkly? What is your plan?  I booked Friday off today so I can have my hair cut in the morning, looking a bit hillbilly at the moment.

Then after 12 or so minutes you'll end up with a mess like this...

James, you booked an entire day off work to have a haircut :D !?

I ran the wives Fabia on a set of Avon ZZ3's with about 3mm on the front and some Kumho Ecsta things on the rears with about 5mm on them, plenty grip in the dry and in the wet they were ok cornering but tended to light up a bit with heavy throttle and traction control off.

Yes and when you see me you will be more surprised as I only have hair around the edges.

anybody want to buy this off me for £5 ? IMG_1780.jpg

I also took the day off to fettle the car

Not fixed a time to leave, where are you staying on Fri?

I am booked in at the Premier Inn along with a few others.

Most people will be on road tyres other than the die hard regulars that get a bit carried away...

My finger was hovering over the pay now button on a set of RSR's

I'll trash my current tyres first now I think.

Then some real rubber for How Fast :)

Meh, it got too expensive as I am booking late or I'd be there, think I'll be elsewhere

aren't you booked yet?

You best hope somebody has booked a twin room!

May have missed it, can someone confirm the stand numbers?

Looking forward to this!! Not long to go. Really hoping it will not rain as my tyres are more slippery than a lady of the night on heat!

I'm sure last April was wet but we managed our track time between showers. As you can see in the vid the track dried fairly well

Plenty of options left mate, have hotel points from work I can spend.

Ill have this please if nobody else has asked.

Glad is read this thread, getting new rubber on wheels tomorrow, will have 2 of the older matching pair fitted on the front, don't fancy ruining a £160 pair of tyres!
