cube turned pick-up

Featured Replies

The story so far...

just recently purchased a skoda cube van off a mate at work, all he asked was what he paid.. £300 and he threw in 12 months MOT, i saw this as a bargain and had to have it. i brorght it with the intention to tart up and sell on and make a few £££, but after it sitting on my drive way and looking at it daily ive come to the decision of keeping the little work horse. after a lot of time looking through forums and photos its given me a few ideas (pics to follow).

few things needing attention: famous pick up rust patches, few dents here and there, paint job, glow plugs, 2 rear shocks and possibly a new back box... overall the van is in good condition for its age and the interior is clean and most importantly dry!!

as purchased:

i will try my best to upload as much photos as and when, hopefully turn out to be a good looking pick up after a lot of Tlc, watch this space

Every time I see one of these cubes or pickups it makes me realise just how much I miss mine now.. Good luck with the conversion.

Alloys arived monday, wanted the Ats cups but didnt wana pay over the odds for some battered alloys, then these bad boys come up, 15' Gottis, went to local garrage to purchase some tyres earlier, the stock size i was told by a friend was 195/50/15 but after trying these on for size they looked bulky and too much rubber for my liking, so tried 195/45/15 with a slight stretch and these seem to set it off just right, should be fitted tomorow as the tyre fitted was an economy one tried on for size, spigot rings where also required

Hi, nice work!! Did you change the Bonnet (6u0823031A) or only the front grille? (6u0853651b). How?

  • Author

the whole front end was replaced with felicia parts, bumper, headlights, headlight trim and bonnet/grill was all off a felicia, best going to a scrap yard, the bonnet opener mechanism is a right pain in the backside, still working on mine and gota sort the headlight adjuster

Ive just converted my mk2 felicia to a mk1 felicia front end so opposite to you, bonnet release was biggest issue for me too, ended up taking the old wire out and feeding some bike brake cable back through the guide, making a loop on the end and clamping it with a terminal connector block, works a treat now.

I think some 'lows' on your truck would help pull those wheels off

I didnt think they made a kit for the pick up tbh. Look at the pick up lowering thread shows you what to use and how to do it

Super. I think trucks/pickups are growing in popularity, not just SKODA.

I am liking the progress on this.
