Picked up my new 2013 Vrs estate. I am in love!

Featured Replies

Picked the car up today, I'm in love. My dealer allowed me a 24 hr test drive in a race blue petrol estate, this sold the car to me over my other choice, a new st focus estate. The Vrs is of higher quality, more space and generally a more refined and grown up motor. Upon picking my car up it is MUCH louder in the sport mode with the induction sound throatier and deeper. Don't know why the dealers demo didn't sound as loud/good in its sport mode setting. I also dropped in a k and n panel filter, same part number/fitment as mk7 gti. Will get some pics up soon. I also opted for the carbon fibre look side decal kit, looks lovely with the anthracite wheels. It also comes with a matching strip for the lower part of the bootlid which is not shown/mentioned in any literature I have seen. I also had window tints applied for the kids in the back. I'm waiting delivery of satin black mirror caps and the black grill surround.

Glad you like it and are having a better experience than me!

Quick couple of questions - what wheels have you got and in the mode menu is there an option to turn the sound generator up/down etc.

mine doesn't seem to have one and I'm wondering if it's an early build that's not got it for some reason. I'm also assuming your mode button doesn't have a vRS logo?

Mike, there is no such option... It only changes volume depending of the mode you're in.

Ah, cheers. Sure I read somewhere there was, that'll teach me for believing printed words!

What does it do when your in the customised mode?

The carbon fibre side decal kit, did you add this as an option? Don't recall this being on the list?

I think it goes by the engine setup in Individual, but don't quote me on that.

The wheels are the standard supplied anthracite item, can't recall the name without looking at the brochure. According to my dealer all the early cars came with the plain silver wheels which were a f.o.c item as there was a shortage of the anthracite style. There is no option to adjust the sound and only a mode button, no vrs

Cheers for that. At least I know something is right!

You need to get pictures up, let us see the side decals!

That does indeed look good. I am not sure this will look as good on a the race blue I ordered.

Like the de-badging!

Any chance of a front pic outdoors with the front wheels turned slightly so we can see up the side of the car.

Very specific I know.

Like the stripes on the side, not keen on the rear one though

The alloys on the new vrs that you have are so so so nice B) .....but i will be waiting for the price to go down whilst im loveing my fl mk2 octavia vrs.....

Wow, I think I'm in love with your car too! Luckily I've got a white vrs estate with anthracite wheels arriving mid November.

More pics please to tide me over until then.

Very nice cars! Looks great in white and cannot wait for mine! Roll on December.........

I will get a pic or two up tomorrow, she is tucked away for the night. 200 miles in 2 days, very impressed

Nice to see a positive post and someone enjoying the car as seems to be a bit of negativity among  lot of posts recently.

My white hatch should be here in the next week so hope I can add some positivity also ! Enjoy your car. Nice setting you live in too !!

I think there should be a rule on here that you don't comment on the car unless you've driven it. There's been a lot if moaning about the spec, features and price, but the point of the VRS is that it offers some fun and performance in a practical package and I don't think you can judge that until you've had a go in one. My hour long test drive left me wanting a lot more! I've not ordered yet but will be.

Looking forward to seeing more pics, mine should be here in a couple of weeks

You are probably out enjoying yourself in your new VRS, but would appreciate you posting some more photos as I am considering the carbon fibre look decals too.
