Fault Code P1815 pressure Control Valve

Featured Replies

Hello again Forum.

Skoda Superb 2.5 V6 2004

i have  a new fault looking for some advice on the cheapest way to get it sorted.

Car broke down friday afternoon. all the warning lights came on the dash. finally got it moving with a struggle down to a garage. They did VAG COM diagnostic came up with fault code P1815 Pressure Control Valve.

The guy who diagnosed is now suggesting a gearbox rebuild.. which is an expensive job!!

However i have been searching online and it appears it may just need new connectors to the valve, or a new valve due to water ingress.

Anybody had any experience with this? i know gearbox problems are common in Superbs. Any help soon would be great as i need the car sorted asap and dont want to be paying for rebuild if i dont have to.

Anyone know what pressure that valve is controlling and what that pressure does?

Thanks, I did look at the Ross tech explanation. Hence why I thought it must be cheaper. Skoda ALDERSHOT have quoted £630 to replace it and change the gearbox oil. Seems a bit steep

Just for an update for future references. The fault was a water damaged gearbox ECU. The cost of new ECU quoted £700. However the very helpful guys up at 3D transmissions in reading are hoping the dry it out and repair it.

This fault was caused by water leaking in to the footwell. A fault I've seen couple times on this forum! The ECU is under the footwell. Bad design indeed. Definitely repairing and selling on if anyone would like a another Skoda Superb!?
