Amundsen wont show the road speed limit and cannot find option to switch it on anywhere in the menus.

Will your screen let you select the split screen option & then displays the message No traffic sign available as per page 56 or don't you get the option to select Split screen?

Mine dies show speed limits when using nav even though I haven't selected the split screen option for traffic signs.

There's no option in slit screen for road signs or in the setup menu where it shows in the manual.

I guess there maybe some problem with the software. I drove 200 miles today & used the satnav. The speed sign showed up on all road types.

If you have a decent broadband speed it's probably worth updating your SD card or quizzing the dealer who may do that for you.

I have done the update and still no road signs and no option To enable it.

Is it done in software or hardware. Is this not one of the things that needs the lane assist camera?

Are you after speed limit or road signs, they are two completely different things.

Speed limits use GPS location in conjunction with the mapping software to display the speed limit assigned to your current stretch of road.

Road signs uses onboard cameras to read and display road signs (only available with columbus according to other threads).

Well your Amundsen should do precisely that. I have used the satnav both with routes selected & just road view & the speed limit of the road you are on appears in the top left of the screen. If you select view from the options along the bottom of the screen & then split screen & road signs it shows the same speed limit but in a black square. I don't have traffic sign recognition or lane assist.

Simply then if yours is set up correctly & does not show speed limits even after you have done an update a visit to the dealer would be my next option & let them sort it out.

No still no option for it in setup or split screen, have phoned the dear they don't have a clue.

in nav mode it should be one of the options when you press setup.  It'll show a speed sign in the display (NOTE this is from when the maps were made, and maybe significantly out of date!).

No - I don't have the lane assist camera and I get the speed limits - not on minor roads though - displayed in the top left hand corner of the screen. Mine is one of the earlier cars (May build, early June delivery ) I have not done any map updates, either. A hardware / software update would seem to be in order.

Mines 2013/2014. Do you have any other numbers under the version section as I only have a map version nothing else.

Mine shows the version date as 2013/2014. Mind you I have only had the car a week.

Also the speed limits are pretty much accurate as some of our local roads have recently had speed limit changes & they are correct on the Amundsen.

If the dealer hasn't a clue I would suggest you get him to ask Skoda Technical for help as it does appear your satnav or software has a fault.

I think you're misunderstanding, drew said "I seem to recall seeing that the speed signs can show up on the Colour maxi dot display too". He's talking about the ability for the Octavia (if fitted with the option) to interpret road signs at the road side and display speed information on the maxidot.

Mine is Amundsen & the speed limit for the road you are travelling on shows in my colour maxidot along with road name or number & compass bearing. I don't have road sign recognition so can't comment on that.

I wasn't seeing this on mine. I'm Amundsen without traffic sign recognition.

Did you have to do any setting adjustments to get this to show? Which of the maxidot modes does this show in?
