Clutchproblems....

Featured Replies

After 500 chiped-miles, the original clutch is already starting to slip under acceleration. Can anyone recommend a better clutch for the RS? Is the clutch for the Audi TT 225hk more powerful?

Whose chip do you use as it must put out a lot more torque than my superchips (circa 210lbf.ft) where the clutch is fine after +7k?

As long as the clutch is fuly engaged before applying turbo I dont see why you have a problem. Are you are tracking or drag-starting the car?

The chip (BSR in Sweden) is specified to deliver about 238lbf.ft and 215bhp. The clutch is getting worse now, it slips even under normal acceleration on second gear

I need a clutch with more reliability than the original obviously. Any advise of a better brand?

Can't advise, sorry.

I had a new clutch put in mine as I felt it was on the way out. My car has been chipped since 10,000 miles. Clutch replaced at 52,000 miles. Of the 42,000 chipped miles, 4,700 were done on a track, so I felt the clutch had lasted fairly well, especially when you consider that they estimate that every mile on track is the equivalent of between 10-15 road miles. Based on that I put in a standard clutch.
