Our VRS TSi at the dealer with heated screen!

Featured Replies

Went to the dealer(Wayside in Milton Keynes) to do the final paper work ready to pick up the car on Tuesday and further to other threads on here it has the heated screen fitted as ordered. We couldn't order the winter pack as the car is a TSi so had to order the parts separately, Will get some pics up when we get it on Tuesday.

Spec of the car is:

2ltr TSi VRS DSG Estate in White

Onyx Leather with White Trim

Heated front seats

Amundsen Sat Nav

Parking Assistant (not much more than having just front sensors)

Heated Washers

Sunset Glass

Spare Wheel

Roll on Tuesday!

Don't see why not its all in the configurator, just takes a bit of time. The salesman at Wayside knew his stuff and went through it with us  till we got what we wanted

Hope you enjoy your new car.

Can you confirm on Tuesday that you have the heated screen? I spoke to Skoda UK and they told me that the heated screen was not available on the tsi only the tdi. The dealer also was told the same. I had ordered the individual components of the winter pack but now can only have the heated seats.

If you do get the heated screen I will be going straight to the dealers! Along with a number of other site members I think.

I have ordered a tsi hatch don't expect to see it this year.

Too bleedin' right I will, if you can let us know by Wednesday or Thursday at the latest it would be greatly appreciated. Because I really wanted that and if it IS on there I will be asking my dealer to get SUK to explain itself & whether it can be retrofitted,

We saw the car on Saturday in Waysides pound - albeit just off the transporter and it definably has the heated screen, know that because I could see the elements from the outside looking in but the salesman check from the inside and when I sat in the car you can see them (just) same as my Superb.

PIcs Pics Pics please when you collect, we have a Candy White Estate on order and would be good to see 'real life' photos as opposed to brochure pics :-)

Thanks in advance.

thanks for sharing that and sorry for hijacking your thread.

My dealer rang me about 40 mins ago as they were amending my order having made had several mistakes on it.

They charged me £125 (twice) for front centre armrest despite it being standard on vRS. They also charged me twice for heated seats.

When they rang tonight it was to tell me that the heated screen is not available on the petrol vRS!!

I pointed out that the Skoda configurator allowed me to configure it but they're adamant I can't have it on a petrol.

I'll point them in the direction of this post on the web site. They are one of the site sponsors so hopefully they'll nvestigate what I'm saying and get me the spec I want.

Thanks

Andy

The question is can we get this stuff retro fitted afterwards. Like others I wanted this quiet a lot as it's very useful in the winter months.

I would like to know SUKs reason why this car has turned up with it fitted and yet no one else is allowed to order or have it. Not impressed at all.

Hi all. I too have a TSI hatch on ordered 3rd Sept with a quoted build of week 47.

There is a similar thread on this site regarding TSI not being able to have heated screen. Anyway to cut a long story short after reading that thread I  contacted my dealer to check and they have confirmed it is being built with full winter pack. Proof of the pudding will be when it turns up though!

I notice however that it is no longer an option on the online configurator. I think it is more to do supply problems rather than restrictions due to engine type.

Agree. Talk of TSI battery / alternator not being up to supporting a heated screen seems wide of the mark!

Still listed as an option on all vRS models in the Czech Republic; SUK up to their usual skulduggery.

TP

SUK really do SUK.

I spoke to Skoda UK on the tsi heated screen issue and was told the first time I asked, it was the alternator. The second time I asked, it was then the production line where not geared up to do it, and then it was, "they reserve the right to change the spec without notice".

They all seem very lame excuses for a total disregard for their customers requirements, to offer tdi customers different options to tsi customers is either, a strange marketing decision, or total incompetance. Probably the later.

I would suggest all tsi customers that wanted the heated screen option but couldnt have it, should email Skoda UK to complain, I already have but the more voices the better.

To make it even worse there are more and more that have this option fitted already.

Post on their Facebook page. Embarrasing them in public usually does the trick.

All well & good if you have a Farcebook or ****ter account. I don't & nor do I want one.
