door problem! skoda fabia 1.2 2004

hey ,

my rear right hand side door is completely shut and wont open from the inside or the outside, the handle on the outside seems broken, theres no friction in the pull, my guess some clip inside snapped ??? :S , however my M.O.T is due in a month and this problem needs resolving asap,

friends have been telling me it sounds like child lock is on, and due to the outside door handle being broken I cant open it, but when I pull the door handle from inside the lock comes up as if its gonna open but doesn't, I assume that's child lock in place :/

can anyone give me a clue to whats happened and how to fix this?

please help
