Two questions

Featured Replies

1: I know I can disconnect the black connector on the seat to stop the safety belt nag...I mean chime but can I either stop or GREATLY reduce the time it nags..sorry chimes via Vagcomm?

2: Can I adjust the one touch indicator to only flash once per touch?

Yes the seatbelt warning bong can be disabled with VCDS (for some reason it will not work on some Octavia’s)

The one touch indicators are adjustable from IIRC 3 - 5 flashes, if you require just one flash then turn the option off.

Can you give more detailed answer, ie what menus, and what values to change please.

Adfabia1 why would you want to turn the chime off other than to enable you to drive without a seat belt on which is 1: breaking the law and 2: bloody stupid!

Having just nearly lost both parents in a serious head on collision, saved only by their seat belts and sturdiness of their 2012 Furby Estate (head on with a passat who was on wrong side of Road) I can see no reason why you wouldn't wear one.

It doesn't take seconds to 'belt up' and it's not uncomfortable to wear really is it?

Have you ever thought that not everyones circumstances are the same as your?

Mine are that I move the car around the company yard, to put my belt on would be stupid as I would be travelling at less than 10mph for about 100 - 200 yards, to have the car constantly bong at you is bloody annoying.

Just some of the other reasons why someone may wish for them to be disabled are:

Taxi driver (don’t agree with the law but that’s their choice)

Medical reasons

Carry anything on the passenger seat? well a lunchbox used to set mine off!

FWIW I always wear a seatbelt on the road.

adfabia1,

the seatbelt warning chime is under 09 - Cent. Elec. Coding - 07

Not 100% sure on the indicators but I would imagine it is either 17 - instruments (or 09 - Cent. Elec,)  Adaptation - 10

Can’t be more specific than that as different models will have different Byte/Bits that need changing

VCDS Adaptations, how do I …

I am exempt from safety belt law, that's why.

If you are driving for more than 50m (54yds) you should wear a belt by law. Agreed it is annoying but so is a broken back. Strange accidents have occurred at 10mph and you can't account for other drivers.

Don't agree with the taxi law either.

Medical reasons are extremely few and far between due to strict practitioner review and adaptions available. ...I know I'm registered disabled.

Lunch box on the floor?

Agreed everyone's circumstances are different but on the road I don't even see disability as a valid reason. ...

FWIW I always wear a seatbelt on the road.

Adfabia1 if that's the case then with Proof of medical exemption certificate would skoda not turn it off for you?

The yard is private property so no seatbelt is required by law, it also has a one way system so it’s highly unlikely a collision is going to happen.

I could of put it on the floor yes, but then the seat is more convenient.

Maybe I am just old school but I don’t need a car to remind me to put a seatbelt on, I do it automatically before driving on the road,

I am also capable of turning my lights and wipers on when needed, not all ‘driver aid’s’ are introduced because the vast majority of drivers need them….. they are for the stupid one who can’t think for themselves.

Plug the belt in around the back of the seat, simple!

Yes, most drivers aids are for people who forget or just don't use features of the car correctly or appropriately. I don't see the chime as an aid it is a reminder as you say. I take your point about driving in a private yard at low speeds and that is why I suppose, on my furby, the chime doesn't sound until above 10mph.

If there was no need to remind drivers the chime would not be there.... on that topic it would be handy if there was a chime to remind people to indicate.

None of my comments are meant with any aggression or prejudice....sometimes text can be taken the wrong way and I hope mine are taken in the spirit they are intended. ...road safety.
