Air bag light, can it be cleared.

Featured Replies

Was fitting a new stereo the other day and stupidly I disconnected the glovebox airbag key switch and forgot and tested the stereo (Ignition on) now I have the airbage light on the dash.

I know there isnt a fault so was wondering if I can get it cleared?

or is there anyone local that can clear it for some beer tokens?

No big issue to get it cleared with VCDS - as above, have a look at the Members Map for someone nearby.

Just pinged a couple of PM's around so fingers crossed it will get done.

Cheers peeps.

Hi all, I had the airbag light on my Roomster light up last week - took it to the garage today, they told me that I would need a replacement airbag on the passenger side - but the light is now extinguished - If the light is extinguished does that mean that there is no more fault (ie. are they having me on?), or is it possible that a problem still exists?

it might still be there.

I had a fault in my 56 plate vrs when I bought it. Garage "fixed" it but they just cleared it so the light went out, few hours later its back on.

A diagnostic scan might reveal some more information. But if the light is off and stays off during a journey, then chances are you're good.

If they cleared the light with a reset, and there was still a problem, the light would come back on again quite quickly.
