VRS rear spolier

Featured Replies

I have that old laminate coming off issue - just waiting for Skoda to get back to me with an offer of goodwill towards getting the job done -

Does anyone have an idea of what a reasonable quote would be to repaint and finish the spoiler - just so I have something to refer to when the Skoda quote comes in

thanks

I've heard quotes of around £150 various people have received on Brisk. Let us know what they quote you, as i have the exact same issue...

As above £150 seems to be the norm

Is the spoiler sealed on as I was just going to take mine off and get it painted as my lacquer has peeled, just wondering if there's a easy way to get it off without damaging?

It's sealed on will be a git to remove

Hi I had exactly the same problem and it cost me £150 by an approved Audi and VW and Lexus bodyshop.

They painted it on the car. HTH

Skoda will not do anything. I spoke to them last month about mine. It's not covered because the spoiler is plastic. Paint is only guaranteed for 3yrs. Bodywork is 10yrs but metal panels only.

I wouldn't hold your breath mate, just about every mark 1 I've seen has this or has

had this in the past. Including my own when I had it. You are far from the first to

try and get something out of Skoda and you'll also be far from the first

person they mug off and give nothing to. I think maybe one person

on here has managed to get something out of them.

Good luck.

mines the same peeled as feck :/ would skoda just look at me and lol and point me to the door you reckon? and £150 for just spoiler spray is incredibly dear imo :/ might just leave it and say its a worn effect haha

150 is a good price as it's more fiddly than doing bigger work. Around spoiler needs masking properly plus most of car will need covering to stop overspray. It needs flating down then a few layers of paint and lacquer. So time and materials £150 is a pretty good price

Group1RS has managed to get a spoiler respray with a % paid by Skoda.

Instead of a group buy shall we organise a group complaint, there can't be this many of us with this issue and them to claim its normal.

i agree. mines in a bad way and if they are so prone to peel then it may be worth mentioning...

I'm another with them same problem was fine couple months ago now it peeling everywhere in a real sorry state gunna spray it myself like my grill it's come unglued 1 side already so gunna remove it to spray it

Any advice on removing it was going down the old boiling water and fishing line root but worried the line will scratch the paint

Still waiting for that call from Skoda - fingers crossed for this week ! I will obviously post the update

I took myne to a local body shop. They got it of with cheese wire and prep'd it all up and sprayed it gloss black. And bloody hell it's better quality then the cars paint work, looks the business! Cost me about £40 ;)

I've been quoted £80 for the whole boot lid inc spoiler at a local body shop near my place of work so £150 is well over priced.

Well Skoda got back to me today - the job was quoted at £400 and they generously offered 30 % off - making the cost to me around £280 - obviously I asked if they were having a laugh !!

£80 for the spoiler was the quote I got
