Rear Bump Stop

Featured Replies

Hi guys

Am I correct in thinking my rear bump stop is goosed? The Suspension isnt bouncy but it does make a knocking sound which im guessing is the top of the shock absorber hitting the bump stop when the piston compresses?

The bump stop is the yellow bit and easy enough to change, the black rubber gaiter part is completly missing on mine.

your symptoms dont sound like a shot bump stop, maybe the shock mounts, get it in the air and have a poke around, any knocking should be easy enough to identify.

Looking at the other side, the black gaitor covers the piston but i cant even move the one down on the photo. Are the shock mounts under the black gaitor at the top?

yes it's under the wheel arch lining, also worth checking your rear anti roll bar links as these will make a knocking noise if worn
