Featured Replies

are folding mirrors std on vrs or an option, parked next to a mk3vrs today, which had its mirrors folded in,want that on mine, dealer going to ask retail support on mon, just wondered if anyone on here av got them on vrs, cheers

I went to my dealers today for the BL's 1st service and their demo estate's were not folded in when it was parked up on the forecourt so I guess not.

Not standard or an option.

Dont think mine does, the courtesy i have at the min is an elegance and does have this with the lights underneath tok

Here in Slovenia are standard. When I lock the car mirrors folded automatically.

Not an option on UK VRS trim sadly :(

No big deal really, I've had them before and found that folding the mirrors encourages people to park REALLY close!

What this is rubish, folding mirrors are standard kit on loads of cars, this should be standard on a vRS. Skoda need to sort it out.

Lol! Over-reacting much?

+1 ^^^ The mkIII vRS is underspec'd as standard in the uk, leaving owners paying out for extras that will add little or no value when the change next time. Cruise and satnav should be standard too IMO

My elegance has them ! You can fold them in by the mirror button or when ignition on or off

Does the forum have a hit squad?  :bandit:

Who's going to retrofit pmsl

Why are folding mirrors such a big deal?

They probably waited until nobody was watching then pushed them in by hand and pretended to have them.....

Have you ever parked in an inner city area and returned to find your wing mirror in the centre of the road? Or tried to squeezing your car into a tight garage built in the 1960's where the door frame was built for a much narrower car?

It's probably nothing to do with garages or the roadside.

The fact that a 2004 fairly basic Ford Fiesta has them as standard does hurt when a vRS doesn't.

We all want a better specced 'flagship' of the Octavia range.

I agree; however, we will all have to pay more for it. Whilst Columbus and folding mirrors are standard in Germany the car has a significant premium over UK model.

Personally my biggest issue is that they can't be specified as an option. At least people can then choose if they require them or not.

Nope to both!

Though I'd suggest if people are driving so close as to knock wing mirrors off, there's potential for far greater damage than a lost wing mirror.

The problem is cars are getting wider with each generation but the width of the road, especially those with on street parking does not change. Thus room for error has reduced significantly.

My house was built in 2002 and I garage the car each night - if I didn't fold both wing mirrors they would become separated from the doors!

Errr.... Im now VERY worried.... Dealer told me the vRS car had folding mirrors! (It was one of my main requirements along with parking sensors and cruise)

If the car shows and the mirrors dont fold in, what are my options?

They do have folding mirrors, they just don't fold electrically.

I was kind of hoping it would come with electric flooding mirrors but can't say I'll lose any sleep over it

This made me laugh because that's probably what they'll say. I can remember years ago, a guy I used to work for wanted a Bentley but he said it must have twin headlights. So he rang round car dealers all over the country (before we could all just look online) and finally he found a dealer that had one, in "mint" condition with every option he wanted. So he drove hundreds of miles to go and get it, when he got there he said where is it and the dealer said oh it's there. Being his only must have was he wanted twin headlights he said I thought you said it had twin headlights? The dealer said it does, one that side and one this side! He came back furious lol.

Seems odd the VRS doesn't have them but the elegance does ??

I must admit I didn't even know my car had them until I went to collect it and saw them folded in.
