Hi everyone!

The names Nathan and im seriously looking into getting a Fabia vRS very soon!! :)

Im a driving instructor and the car will be used for both teaching and personal use.

I currently run a '04 Daihatsu Sirion Rally which is v.good really, but its really loosing money fast due to high depreciation, especially as im doing about 30000 miles per year.

I'll be on here a bit learning about these cars that seem perfect for my needs. Fuel economy is important to me but so is strong performance for my own enjoyment. From what i've read so far, the Fabia vRS is begging to be tuned to release more power / torque, thats definatley what i plan to do to it.

Its been a while since ive had owned a different car other than Daihatsu's...I currently also have a highly modifed 170bhp Charade GTti (its only 1 litre)which i use for shows / track days.

Its featured on the front cover of this month's Retro Cars magazine actually!!

Ive been tuning cars for years now and i hope with my experience that i can help share ideas with everyone to help develop the vRS!

Gonna go and read some more vRS posts now! Cant wait to get one!

Cheers

hi and welcome to the site :)

Welcome Nathan. I get my vRs on 1st September. It takes about 12 weeks to arrive as it's made to order. Could be longer if you specify options like I did. As for learning to drive in it !!! You may well get a queue !!

I cant wait. You wont be sorry !! Get it ordered now

You won't be the first driving instructor to have one either, I believe there are one or two on here...

My friend had a Charade GTTi 1.0, and fook that was rapid  Pretty ropey otherwise though. I imagine a mint tuned one to be amazing!

Welcome! Charade GTti was one of the most underated cars.Brilliant things and seriously quick.

Probably one of the most interesting hot hatch engines ever.

Hope you sort a furby soon

Hi yes there are a few instructors on here had a chat with one on a local meet.

If I remember correctly you can get FREE dual controls.

Looks like i may not quite be able to afford a brand new 'un!

Not really bothered though, i'll just look out for a nice private sale late 04 / early 05 car with about 6000-12000 miles on it. There a few nice ones on Autotrader at the moment for about 9500-10500.

At least i wont have to bother running it in then!

And to be honest...its usually only a matter of weeks before a learner scrapes a kerb anyway which suddenly spoils the thrill of a brand new car.

Then i'll have to sort out fitting the Dual controls myself, they cost about 500ish i believe.

The only thing i think may be a problem is the light colour seats getting dirty quickly from my pupils.

Welcome!

There are some nice fabia's on pistonheads.co.uk at the moment.

Sharkrider uses one for driving instruction, he says his pupils love it

Hello, welcome to Briskoda! Wow, imagine learning to drive in a Fabia Vrs instead of the usual Corsa/Micra!
