1.6 Diesel & Caravan

Featured Replies

I have only had my Yeti since last Wednesday and I am so pleased I went with the 2.0 110 !  I have travelled so far 560 miles. I  went from Mansfield to Spalding and down to Bucks and then home to Exmoor. On Saturday I came back up to Bucks. I have been on 'A' roads, motorways and country lanes and up and down hills, both at home and coming through the Cotswolds.

So far I have only fuelled up once and I am still showing a possible 90 miles range. When I collected it there was an eighth of a tank showing  and the car had done 5 miles. I did 70 miles and then filled up- it took 48 litres. I think I am going to be very pleased with  the fuel economy of my Yeti. I like the extra bit of power as opposed to my 1.6 Focus - it feels really nippy!

I suspect when I tow my little caravan I shall have to remind myself it is on the back! I do think driving style has a great deal to do with mpg.

Had the test drive yesterday and have to say that I love the car. The only problem was that it was a very short drive on 30mph roads(about 10-15mins).

I can definitely see the advantage of the 2.0 over the 1.6, especially for towing as it feels like it has a lot of power behind it.

I'll try and test a 1.6 in January before ordering, but we will definitely be getting the Yeti - it's by far the most comfortable and practical car in our price range.

The dealer confirmed that as far as they are aware the towbar remains the same for the FL.
