Creaking noise like an old bed

Featured Replies

HI!

I just replaced the steering rack due to massive leaking and now I'm getting a nasty creaking noise, the car feels like an old bed.Steering, breaking, when starting in 1st gear creaking is allways the same

With the new rack I put new wishbone bushes.

Any ideas?

Top mounts are fine,ARB bushes looks fine, tie rods and end rods were replaced months ago.

What else?

I'm so tired ,it took me 6 hours for the rack replacement, with brushing every bolt from rust....so now my mind is not in the best shape

I tight up the wishbone front bolt with the car on the ground

I had this after a local garage replaced the cam belt and water pump.

They spilled a load of coolant into the lower arms and bushes, which caused horrendous eternal 'old bed' style creaking.

I was able to get rid of it temporarily by spraying a load of WD40 into the rubber bushes - but the only permanent resolution in the end was replacement.

Sounds like the same thing i had, turns out it was the drop links.
