A bit like the van variants of U.K. small hatchbacks that are available in S. Ireland.

I need to know now anyway as it's bugging me. I could start losing sleep over this!.

Our friend from Greece claims the 'sedan' isn't available in Greece, yet I saw two or three Greek registered ones out there

Is the one i posted not for sale in a UK Dealers.?

I took the Picture from a Sales Advert but never looked at the Location of the Dealers.

Cars get Imported, like Commercial van versions of cars only available new in Ireland or Mainland Europe end up come time in the UK.

The same happens in other Countries around the world.

EDIT.

North Yorkshire.

Someone should start importing the Roomster van over here imo.

I'd have had one four years ago, no doubt about it.

2nd hand ones even.

I appreciate that VW didn't want Skoda doing that though due to it taking sales away from the Caddy....apparently

*thiinks* ...have i just stumbled on a new business venture?

Hey you S.Irish lads. Is the van variant available over there?

Sure it wasn't the Rapid?

Is the Rapid a saloon then?

Didn't know that either.

The Rapid is a hatch in the UK, not sure what versions are available in other markets.

Am I missing something here?

All the pictures posted in this thread of the Octavia - they are all hatchbacks.

No one has posted a picture of the saloon yet...

You need to search for Sedan

Behold, the mythical Octy saloon :)

Look at this picture. The rear deck (where a vRS spoiler goes) is longer and the boot is open but the window fixed.

It is important to realise there are two Rapids. The one in the UK is a hatchback but the one in the picture is Indian made for the Indian market. Its based on the Mk2 Fabia IIRC and its a saloon.

I think you're right, but would be a load more convinced if the boot was wide open with the glass in place.

No wiper on that one either note.

Almost wish I hadn't posted this thread now, as it is actually doing me head in!   :wall:

Yeah I know. I am not totally convinced, but 90%.

Looks like a RHD model too i notice, so what market is that for?

Shut line on the boot lid / tailgate definitely looks as though it's open, yet the glass looks totally flush.

Thought you were going to tells us about Skoda being forced to make stuff for the Germans (UFOs) like  before....

The project was called the Schriever-Habermohl scheme. Rudolf Schriever was an engineer and test pilot, Otto Habermohl an engineer. It was based in Prague between 1941 and 1943.

Oh I'm totally confused now.

So, a saloon/sedan was/is available but seemingly not in Greece/Kos Island, and one  seen on Nisyros Island too btw.?

My head's starting to hurt.

Octavias in Greece (all over Greece) were, are and (I hope will be) identical to Octavias you get over UK, except the rear wiper. It is an extra feature here in Greece, so you have to order it, unless the car will be a Police, or a State car.

Off topic, but it's my thread!

Very nice people you Greeks. Beautiful islands, unbelievably good food, pretty good weather apart from gale force winds for 4 days, just a shame about the state of some of your roads....worse than ours, and that's saying something!!

Why is the sky so much bluer over there than we ever get even on a nice day here in the UK too btw?

Whilst I agree the boot appears to be unlatched the rear deck is no bigger than my vRS. See the picture of the UK hatch posted by George on page 1.

The link I posted earlier details all global iterations of the MkII Octavia since launch and there is no mention of a sedan/saloon.

I am happy to be corrected but I'd wage a tenner on there being only hatchback and estate versions of the A5 Octavia.

Over 5 years on Brisky and not one saloon owner?

This thread has however generated an itch that needs scratching!

Indeed, but I think most of my itches are Greek Mossy generated tbh!

Not like you to be wrong about a Skoda, mate. You losing your touch :giggle:

  No need to put the boot in! :giggle:
