It ain't that this is sudden boost drop normally it will be bout the same as yours 21 drops to about 17 but this is full cut out to 10 ish and it didn't do it before I've just had to turn around and abandoned my jorney just drivin bout 60 mph and it died then drove again then did it again there obviously a blokes filter or diein fuel pump

That sounds like my dodgy fuel pump

+1 on the fuel pump had a dodgy one on an old Beemer a while back that used to play up at high revs. Have you changed the filter yet?

No lights no codes just totally random just dies for a second then gos again like when a car starts runnin out of fuel weird

Yeah gotta be pump or filter, mine used to die then I would back off the throttle, back on and it was fine until felt like doing it again.

How many miles on the car ??

David 8 what was the course of the problem of yours diein filter or pump mate?

145k sounds about right for a pump really from what I read.

Mine was leaning out up top and dropping the boost so as not too make the engine explode.

I fitted the Pierburg 225 4 bar pump form eurofarts. Got it for about £140 through my mate.

Yours may be dying after trying to push fuel through the black mung is your filter, or the black mung could part of your pump !!!

It was just dirty black coloured fuel it's running a lot better now the rev counter is bang on 700 rpm now with no rough idle used move up and down a bit now it's perfectly still I ordered a walbro 225 high pressure pump kit even though it's runnin ok now still gonna fit it to be sure and still need to get someone to run vcds for me to make sure everything is ok you wouldn't believe how many parts I've replaced on this car in the last month the exhaust is next on the list I was a bit reluctant to spend so much on a car with that mileage but tbh the engine is sweet it doesn't use any oil at all between 3k oil changes motorway mileage just hope everything is ok after I done this tbh I've replaced nearly everything

Will be worth it when its sorted, I've had many cars over the years and my old '02 yellow vRS and my '98 VR6 Golf high-line are the only cars I missed. Now I've got another vRS and I'm so pleased I bought another one. Chin up and enjoy it when its finished.

Nice to hear that. I just tested it on motorway it's still losin it's boost not as bad but it's still doin it see what happens wen I fit new fuel pump I'll get there in the end feel like blowing it up some days

You should clean and test the flow of fuel injectors because there`s a big possibility some of the junk made it`s way to the fuel rail.
