Hi, and help please! I'm attempting to replace the alternator on my 2008 Roomster 1.9 diesel after the usual intermittent 'red-light' problems [suspect it's either the alternator clutch or other alternator components starting to fail, as usual suspect wiring has been checked and reported okay] and can't seem to get at the belt tensioner to release the tension. Does anyone know how to release the tension to allow removal of the belt?  Access to the tensioner seems very tight at first glance. Thanks, all. 

Have a look at my 1.9TDI PD Cambelt change guide in the Skoda Roomster Technical Guides section. Removing the auxiliary drive belt is something done as part of that.
