Hi all 

Has anyone got a clue where the radio code is located ?

i have all the documents etc but cant see anything that points to a radio code

You don't need one. It's stored in the ECU of the car.

I had the standard radio out of our VW California to try an after market unit.  On putting the original back in it asked for the code which I hadn't got. Phoned the dealer and he said they need the VIN, registration and proof of ownership.  Got his lot together and went back to the Cali and the radio worked without the code. So it looks like if it's the radio that came with the vehicle you don't need it, it just come sback on after a while.

Yup, you just leave it. If you try and enter a code it'll ignore the ecu (tamper system?) and you'll need a dealer.
