Creaking/rattling sunroof

Featured Replies

My Yeti has recently been in for its first service and as part of it, the dealership identified a potential issue with the sunroof. I had been getting an intermittent rattling sound coming from it. Dealership duly had the car back in and the work was carried out.

Following this, the rattle has become more apparent - to the point where it is starting to annoy. When the sunroof is open, problem goes away.

They've had the car back once again and been unable to stop it - to the point where they now need to get Skoda to recommend a further course of action.

Has anyone else been similarly affected with a noisy velux - and what was the ultimate fix?

Cheers
Stevie

A creak (as opposed to a rattle) from the sunroof (when closed) appeared on my Yeti one week before the warranty expired, Allams in Epsom promptly fixed it by lubricating the sunroof and since then the noise has gone.

Hi Guys,

Just had my 3 month old Elegance back from dealer with this problem. Car had persistent rattle which went when sun roof opened. Dealer had car in for 3 days as whole internal roof lining has to come out - service guys say it is a known issue and the fix is installing little rubber pads into/ alongside the mechanism. Car returned mostly solved - occasional rattle/ buzz but way better than before. The dealer says there is a Skoda technical note on the issue - mine was the third Yeti they had done.

Good luck

Thanks chaps - car is now booked in for another day at the dealership and I'll report back when I have news. Apparently, the whole unit has to come out....
