Are vrs / non vrs rear brake calipers the same

Featured Replies

My 2007 vrs is in the garage just now. It went in originally as there was a droning at 50-70mph which I thought might be a bearing. They think it may just be tyre noise but during the investigation both rear calipers were found to be needing replaced.

Are the vrs rear calipers just the same as other Octavia models? The car had red calipers but the replacements are unpainted. I wasn't sure if replacements would come red as well if they were a specific part to the vrs. I'm not that bothered if I have to get the paintbrush out to get them back to red at some point but I just want to make sure there aren't any other differences.

Certainly on the front its only the carriers that differ, the calipers are the same. I'd imagine it is the same for the rears.

I thought the rears were a different set up on a vRS, but I may be wrong.

Someone who has done the upgrade to vRS brakes all round would be better to answer though - Wardy?

Well I have but I changed the lot, just can't quite remember if the calipers were different or not (haven't still got them to physically compare).

Cheers guys, it's all been done now. Existing red carriers and new unpainted calipers so I'll just need to get some paint. The rest could probably do with a freshen up anyway.

Reminds me, I should get round to painting my calipers green. ;)

Was thinking of doing mine a nice shade of pink...
