  • How has the surface area been reduced? I will give you my car if my cone has reduced the surface area. Basic maths can tell you it has been increased by a decent amout.

  • No its a JP190 intake

  • K&N open cone + bigger intake (idea stolen from joe )

Just to update the point about not liking the beige and green S2000 filters from euro car parts if you get a blueprint one part number ADH22236 they are gloss black and red like so

Cost me £22 on trade but think they're nearer £30 normally but saves having to paint it and I'd imagine the paint would of come off over time too

Good shout. Ill get one of them next :)

I would say flesh coloured plastic with a purple filter would be more amusing

bugger I just threw out the air box and filter of the missus S2000.

got a cotton green one there though so that will do for now.

A pikey plumber appears to have left half his toolkit under your bonnet there kyle...

Edited by sepulchrave

Looks good Kyle, that would sit in my engine bay nicely. Could never use one if those horrid green ones though!

I did think it would look good on yours when I fitted it lol. Need to paint my strut brace red again to match it i think. what sort of revs/boost do you need to let off at to get chatter? Not really drove it to find out

Haha ;) I need to get my strut brace to fit, bought it off here, it's all ****ing bent out of shape which I wasn't told about...

Mostly low revs mate about 2,000 - 2,500rpm, sounds nice :)

Pikey snap on or mac plyers. Same as mine haha.

I think ill have to make mine alil louder soo. Quiet it soo Boring

Fletch heard mine the other night, how did you think it sounded with the cone?

Sounded great and you could hear the engine breathing much more naturaly. Amd somehow not to loud either. The little turbo sound when changing gear was nice. Wish mine done it too

I think im going to order an S2000 filter tomorrow. Euro parts are very cheap right now.

Have people noticed any difference in noise?

I know on N/A petrol cars you get lots of induction noise and on turbo charged petrol cars when the T/B closes cones make a good chatter noise, but am not sure if a turbo diesel will make any really.

It's on sale for £12.90 at the min but it's the horrible beige one :( you don't get a induction roar like a petrol but it does give a nice deep sound and overrun you get cone drone. It's hard to explain but it dies sound good for a diesel. I've got no boxes in my exhaust too so I get quite a loud growl on full boost

my fabia is currently decat, but standard back box so i don't get much noise so i imagine the difference more.

Its only slightly more expensive than the standard air filter anyway so its no big deal, if i don't like it i will revert back in 6K at the next service.

I had one of those, but the foam started tearing around the neck after a couple of months.

Yes it didn't look that sturdy around the neck , I've made a bracket to help support it so hopefully that will help and it will last

any suction noise from it?

Yer a bit ,you can hear it sucking !.Mainly higher up the rev range or when you back right off the throttle
