vRS white smoke

Featured Replies

Im sorry if this has been asked before but i am new to the world of skoda!

I have brought a vRS recently and have noticed that it emits alot of white smoke only when under boost...... does anyone have any suggestions as to what this is or what i can check and rule out?

Any advice is appreciated!

Can be just normal steam. but as you say on boost, it could be more serious.

first things to do are to monitor your oil and coolant usage. Does it smell?

how do you know it is only on boost?

Every year when the air temp falls (autumn /winter months), mine (owned for about 8 years), always chucks out white smoke / steam.

If your not using a lot of oil and coolant water level remains constant (as mentioned above) then its typical.

Like you, I first thought something had blown big time the first winter I had it as it was the first turbo car ive owned.

Just keep a check on everything, water etc.

This is the first turbo car i have owned, always had Jap before so turbo's are new to me

The plume of smoke only comes out of the exhaust when putting my foot down and the turbo kicks in.

I have monitored the oil and it seems to be stable and the car not using too much. The smoke does smell a little oily though!
