Hi all,

 

New here. I've not yet ordered my new company car - I have to choose it by the end of the month, even though I'm not due to get it till April '14. i guess that i'll be at the mercy of the lead time in any case so perhaps >April 14?? 

 

I'm considering an Octavia Estate 1.6 diesel, either Elegance (manual, stock model) or SE (DSG + arm rest + steering controls + alloys upgrade).

 

Currently leaning towards the SE DSG, but if I went for the SE, I might want the 17" alloys option as my personal view is that perhaps the 16s look a little small on the estate? 

 

1) does anyone have an SE estate with the Denoms? can you post a picture to help me decide?

2) anyone know why they aren't an option on the configurator any more? they were a couple of days ago?? hopefully they still offer the option and its an error on the website.

 

I have trawled youtube and google images to try to help me decide on wheels - there arent that many examples with Denoms available.

 

I've been to a couple of dealers in glasgow, but they didn't have the cars in stock.

 

I'm gonna have the car for 4 years so would like to make as informed a choice as I can, but finding that I'm having to guess! 

I believe (if I'm wrong someone will correct me) Denoms have been temporarily withdrawn as an option due to supply problems.

It's ironic as in August they became the standard wheel on Elegance for a little while due to supply problems with the other standard alloy.

I know it's not an estate but the thread below has shots of my Elegance Hatch which has the Denom alloys fitted.

Your car looks great.

Hopefully the issue is short lived, unlike the temporary unavailability of the chrome window surround. Have SUK ever announced that they're just discontinuing that option?

They don't seem very good at communicating with their buyers/potential buyers!

I suppose that'll make my mind up for me then. No other wheels are available on an SE, so I'll have to go with the stock option or stretch my budget to an Elegance.

In terms of styling between the two types it's very much a personal choice, but the Denom would be a hell of a lot easier to keep clean.

I ordered both this week without problems (in Slovenia ) Chrome surround is standard anyway...

I thought that the lack of chrome window surround was a worldwide skoda supply/quality issue - that doesn't look like the case if PekoSI and Kabe can get it as standard in Europe! I really don't understand Skoda UK's thinking?

I can live with out the chrome as the stock white colour option and sunset glass gives a good window contrast instead.

 

Just need to get the Denoms back available to order and I think that I'll go with the 1.6 DSG + denoms. 

 

thanks to those who posted pictures - the Denoms really set the car off and at £350 are good value also.

talked to my dealer today as i'm waiting for my winter wheels, they have delivery problems with 16" too. Only one they can get is "star" not my favorite but cant wait weeks for the "Ilas" I wanted.. :(
