I'd demand what I ordered, get skoda uk involved, threaten to publicise in what car autocar etc.

 

You don't want a red one, they're so common  (I'll get my tin hat on)

 

If you can't be speedily promised what you've ordered, follow through the threat, cancel your order and go and get an up!

Or there's a white 5dr in peterb'h with 2k on it for £9700, then get yourself some good aftermarket 16" white alloys.

Well we are desperate, as I'm the only one with a car at the moment! Just really bugged that we've filtered down to a choice of things that are not what we initially went in to order! 

 

Ok the colour has changed, but the choice of wheels shouldn't be such a hard thing to do! 

The wheels should be no problem to sort out. It's just the dealer not wanting to do any work.

I'd contact skoda UK ASAP with regards to this - preferably before you collect the car- if skoda have twitter / Facebook pages I'd hit these too with your complaint. Don't let the dealer fob you off and win.

More to the point is there anyone on here with access to skoda UK as there are quite a few complaints of a similar variety with regard to orders lack of contact and wrong cars being delivered.

Our white 5dr sport arrives tomorrow at the dealer. Needs de-stickering as per SWMBO's instructions, then dealer needs to wait for PID to arrive. Plus I'll need to have a last minute think about whether to go for a black roof.

Sent a pm to Skoda UK asking for advice, I didn't mention any names as I'd like to hope the dealer will solve the issue out quickly. We do collect the car tomorrow and I have stated that even though it's now red all we really want is the white Serpens and we will be happy. Why is that such a hard thing to ask for!  See it's meant to be!

Yeah! Finally got it a couple of days ago - on Saturday. Went on a wee road trip first thing and got a bit carried away - I've already got 200 on the clock, doh!

 

I'll post the timeline of my order in case that helps anyone else.

 

Order - Week 33 (estimated lead time "8 - 10 weeks")

Initial build date - Week 42 (date deferred)

Actual build date - Week 45

Leave factory - Week 45 (1 day later)

Arrive at port - Week 46 (Port at Emden, Germany)

Arrive at UK port - Week 48

Arrive at dealer - Week 48 (3 days later)

Transferred to collection dealer - Week 48 (1 day later)

Collected from dealer - Week 48 (1 day later)

 

Total lead time 15 weeks exactly, to the day.

 

So here's a handy little way to see the approximate date you can maybe expect the car, if you order one today!

 

A couple of things I'd like to say as well, the dealer said initially when I ordered the car that he'd send me a list of possible number plates. I never actually got the option but  don't really mind. JUst a heads up.

 

Also, the dealer never gave any update on the order unless I pestered him so I strongly suggest you email them every week or at least every other week just to keep them on their toes.

 

The car also came with a little bag of engine oil in the boot, no carpets through but I just paid the £30 for them. Couldn't be bothered haggling in the morning! And also half a talk of fuel, and 25 on the clock. Normal for a new car. Doesn't have a tax disc though... he assured me one is in the post and it's OK to drive in the mean time.

 

And for anyone who wants the SAFE system activated on their Citigo, where it auto locks and unlocks when driving off and taking out the ignition, I just emailed them 2 days before the collection date to activate it. It didn't cause any delays.

 

looking back on it I guess if the build date wasn't deferred 3 weeks and the car didn't sit in the port for 2 weeks the 8 - 10 wouldn't actually be far off.

Just had a chat with dealer and my build week has moved forward by a couple of weeks so should be towards end of jan i pick up, though if its 1st week of feb they will still hold it for me so i can have the new reg.

Well we've picked it up, its a red 5 door with front and rear mudflaps, aluminium door guards, and a spare wheel, the dealer knocked off £250 off the price and included a free spare wheel, plus when the damaged white one comes we can have the white aurigas swapped over.

Its got the latest PID, other half loves the bt and the stereo, its much nice and feels posher than his 107.

Very impressed with the car, we've got this new electronic servicing thing now. Dealer was quick at resolving the problem even though its a different colour its still a great little car.

I spoke to a really helpful guy on the phone who managed to look up all my details, even though I had no order number to give him.

 

Really excited now as i've been told that my car is being built next week

What spec are you getting? I ordered my Elegance before you and still have 7 weeks to go before it's due to be built.

I have ordered a 5 Door Candy White Elegance 60hp (Manual) with all packs and variable boot floor

Exactly the same as me then, will be a bit easier now I actually have my order number 

Ordered my Silver Elegance 75 with convenience and safety packs end of August. told 6-8wks, following week changed order to include spare wheel.

Due to "change" build week was now wk44, then had a 4wk delay (wk48)

Just been informed it's built and on it's way

 

Should have it for Christmas
