Then you get a car that is old and been sitting in the mud and rain for ages (pre-rusted) instead of getting a brand new car built to what you want.

  • We officially placed the order on the 26th September so it's come round quicker than expected. We opted for the 16 white serpens 5dr with stainless steel kick plates, and front and rear mudflaps.

  • Well we've picked it up, its a red 5 door with front and rear mudflaps, aluminium door guards, and a spare wheel, the dealer knocked off £250 off the price and included a free spare wheel, plus when t

Yes i guess thats true, but in all the cars i bought years ago,i never had a problem with them, even if they had been sitting in the compound for weeks.

The only cars you had to wait for in those days were cars like the Rolls Royce and Bentley.

Mine is now built and awaiting shipping so it appears it had been nudged forward again which is always good :)

Great news :)

A slightly late xmas present to myself, really looking forward to it

I do few it is expected that there is a build time circa 14-16weeks for Citigo. As we know the factory is producing for multiple brands with sales streams from various regions.

Although I'm sure it cannot be proved, it would appear that the VW UP! has production priority as for the VAG it will be the most profitable not only it it's sale prie but with associated cross sales (finance, servicing etc....)

Because of this and I'm sure combined with UK spec we are all having to wait. If you find a stock car the dealer wants to stiff you on the price with £Nil discount

Mine too, spoke to my dealer yesterday.  Maybe they will be cargo buddies     Mine was built 16th Dec and has been waiting at port since the 18th.  The dealer says it should be on a ship this week - hopefully all this forecast weather won't delay it any longer!

Oooh that could make it three cargo buddies :)

I haven't heard too much from the dealership since the 11th when it was built in week 50, but was told mine should be on a ship at the moment.

Bring back the old days i say when dealers had stocks of cars in the compound.None of this waiting for months for your car.

You used to go into the dealer, tell him what you wanted. He had a look on his stock sheet, and you picked up the car the same week.

....and there are lots cars out there now for sale, just as you would like. It's just that you want a good, desirable, recently-introduced best-seller that can't be made quickly enough to satisfy demand.

Last I knew I had build week 2 then When I popped in to check something re finance he was oh its been built just waiting for a boat... best bit is I live down near the port in sheerness where a lot of them ship in to, forever seeing transporters of skoda hehe

Ooooh!  had a call from my dealer earlier - my car is in the UK! YAY!

They are expecting delivery in the next couple of days...I can't wait!!!

My Citigo Elegance has also arrived in the UK today! Maybe they were ship mates Allicia8!

Not heard from mt dealer yet so hopefully arriving in uk in next few days!

Ordered my Sport 5 door on the 22 September, arrived at the dealer on the 24 December.  Collecting it tomorrow morning at 10.30, it is in the showroom under a silk cloth, very posh.  Can't wait now.

Sounds very exciting - but is it really a 5 door Sport? I thought the Sports were only available as 3-door models? Which was why I ordered an Elegance back in early Sept...

The Sports are available in both 3 and 5 door trims.

Hi all, back to the forum, and looking forward to another Skoda!

Ordered 5th December, build week 12, then who knows?!

Anxious about the order having read about the ASG, but I'll not be driving it too often....

Welcome back :)

I just found out that mine arrived in the UK on the 3rd too, so not long to go now

When do dealers get to know when the cars they have ordered for customers are due to be built?

I ordered an Elegance 75ps GT 3door (or coupe as I like to call it!) on Oct 19. Delivery was quoted as early Jan which has now slipped to late Jan and he still can't tell me the build week.

What are other peoples experiences? Do some dealers get their cars quicker than others?

Strange you haven't had a build week yet - I ordered mine 23rd September, three weeks later I had a build week of week 48.  Car was actually built week 50.  I'm picking it up on Wednesday

My dealer was spot-on with his estimate of 16 weeks.  He did say the more 'non-stock' the order is, the longer it takes.  Mine is an Elegance 75ps 5 door with spare wheel, sunset glass and entertainment pack.

My dealer kept saying my order didnt have a build week, after a few weeks and a few phone calls i rung customer services they gave me my build week straight away! Id do the same if i was you!

my car was ordered on the 6th Nov, on business contract hire.

i have been given build week 6.

so that's seems to be the average 16 weeks.

Roll on March and my new '14' plate CitiGo SE GreenTech.

Yes,give Skoda CS a ring they are really helpfull, give you a build week, your order number etc.

Ordered mine just before Xmas and will be looking at at least a March delivery :(

That's so long, are other manufacturers similar? Guess I just need to wait, for a used Sport, the APR is huge so no point in that!
