Featured Replies

hello all, having picked candy white, thinking of gettihg the dealer to fit mudflaps.now mudflaps are not my bag.i know they work and do a job,but some fit and look better than others.can anyone give me some photos of a  superb estate with dealer fitted mudflaps? lol my wifes next to me and thinks ive lost the plot  :nerd:  :nerd: .......

Here you are... sort of says they don't do a lot...hardly noticeable on the car either but would look great against white.

I feel they might stop some chips though but clearly could do with being lower.

Hi, it looked pretty good on a silver metallic in my opinion ... they were an easy fit, a 5 minute job ... and easy to remove if you do not like them!

I would say, go for it!!

I have black mud flaps on candy white.  They look fine and yes, they do help with mud splatter and stopping the car getting blasted with small rocks.  I'd take some pictures but my car is currently in being assessed after hitting one of the local giant rats last weekend.

All about opinions, my thought was it made the car look cheap and stuck out like a sore thumb.

Buts thats just my opinion.

Ok, different model I know but if it helps the flaps on my vRS do stop some of the muck getting splattered down the sides of the car and being yours is white dirty doors will probably me more noticable than a a couple of bits of black plastic?

Don't get me wrong it won't stop it all together but it does help having them IMO

I don't really notice mine (cappuccino beige twindoor), but when I do, I like them. :)

As i said, opinions.

White is the new Brown over here anyway.... :-)

But to show i do like muddy's you can see i have them on my Passat estate, but black on black.

This is my estate with mudflaps.  I think they look good on the car, but to be honest I don't notice them on a regular basis.

But we're discussing White car with black flaps, they are noticable. ;-)

I have them on my Candy White estate - I think they enhance the look of the car

I will post some pictures at the weekend when I get home - I am working away at the moment!!

thankyou inoffski...

I think flaps in general help visually ground the car a little. Are they much to buy from the dealer? I've seen some better valued ones on eBay for £14.99 a set and free delivery from China/ Hong Kong!

The flaps barely cover any of the paintwork on the Superb

As the tyres are black together with the large void of dark space all around the tyre and under the bumpers I can't see them looking anymore out of place on a white car compared with any other colour.

They look pretty obvious on the Passat to me :giggle:

Well, don't know about the price from dealers in UK but £15-£16 is what an original pair costs in Sweden from any Skoda dealer ... and then you know for sure that they fit well ...

OP asked for photos of estate with mudflaps...which is what I've done.

Lads,

would be interested in seeing these pictures.. .as i siad i didnt fancy them, but that was my opinion, but i do or have liked to have them on previous cars. So if they look better than i first thought i may opt to have them... So come on, lets have your pictures. :-)

OK I'll take some tonight, bearing in mind that my front bumper is cracked and my foglight is missing.

Seriously, they're practically invisible, they do work and they're also a courtesy to my fellow tailgating motorists.

unfortunately the shadow makes them look invisible. bet they look fantastic on a white car...wish I had white instead of old man brown!

I saw a white Octavia a couple of days ago that had white mudflaps fitted - gave it a good little WRX style!
