New VRS Headlight washers

Featured Replies

Sorry, I should have clarified. Externally, how would one tell if it wasn't applied correctly?

It's basically scotchguard. You can buy a can of this and spray it on yourself for less then five quid. That's all they do, spray it on from an aerosol.

Yes, please do share. I have the AG Lifeshine applied too and whilst it appears to be doing its job, I'll admit I don't really know what to look for if I didn't.

I'm interested in this as I've always been really impressed with their products even though they do seem to get slated by a fair few folks on here.

What do you mean by appears to be doing it's job please?  I'm no sloth, I just want to spend more time driving my car than cleaning it.

Would you say it looks better or stays cleaner longer with the protection?

Thanks

It should resist water on the fabrics.

Yes - I paid for it as an option and the dealership reapplied it as way of an apology.

Did they do that themselves HotRod or get a contractor in?  The cynic in me would think that if they scrimped on the inside they may well have done the same on the outside.  Did they re-do both or can you tell that the outside has been done properly?

I worked for a main dealer that sold supagard paint and interior protection. The actual product was ok albeit massively overpriced, the problem was it was applicated by a contract cleaner on piece work. They got paid £6 to clean a new car and £20 for a second hand car. So if you were paid £6 to clean and then applicate the supagard, would you do it properly. No?, your right, neither would I. I never saw one new car with the supagard done correctly, it was slapped on. They used to have loads of the product left over. It was such a rip off. If I got chance I would always tell as many people as possible not to bother!!! This is just my experience and opinions, it will be different from dealer to dealer, hope that helps some buyers though.

On my car, all the water sheets off the body work and the remaining residue beads up on the paintwork.

I believe there is suppose to be treatment on the glass too (except wing mirrors) but I'm not sure what to look for there.

For the one and only time I've washed it so far, it was easy to clean. The Gemini rims and octagon front grill can be a bugger to clean however.

That's great thanks. Yes I'd expect the alloys and grill to be awkward. AG extra gloss protection seems to make mine easier to clean. Thanks again

It had a full valet again when I picked it up. Clean as a whistle. Even under the wheel arches. Saves me doing it this weekend.

Picked up my Octavia VRs Estate 2 weeks ago and had the same issue with the retracting of the headlight washers, took it to the dealer and the problem was solved in 10 mins.
