  • Ambient lighting all done all four door pockets and under dash. Just 3 SMDs per light nice and bright look blue in the pics, but are actually purple/white. Any way just another twist on the pudd

  • I might be coming back to Skoda got my eye on a black vRS 2.0 tdi 170 5dr if the X5 sells I should be getting the octy or a mondeo St 155 tdci either way both will be faster and more fuel efficient.

Cheers mate the spending never stops made worse by some of the cars on here. Defo best colour always looks clean, however I do miss my old yellow one.

To be fair there's never much of a skoda presence at the ketch lol but may see you at the next one and hopefully weather will be better :)

And not a great deal of progress on my octy as I've been working most weekends since new year so don't get time, but i've took all seats, carpets, roof lining, console, sill and pillar trims out etct, just need to remove the boot build and rear trims and door cards and I've made a diffuser for the rear bumper and painted the drivers wing, boot lid and door lol, just on the look out for some cheap bucket seats and harness to put in it :)

  • Author

There was some buckets and harness in the for sale section not to long ago might be worth a look, like the rear splitter in your thread looks cool.

Tinted the lights today wasn't sure if I like them in yellow so I bought the cheapest film china had to offer and it was sh£$ almost as thick as cardboard and about as good at sticking to curves. So not sure if I will replace it with some good stuff or go for the smoked tint.

Get your retro rat style on! Think the yellow would look better if you had black inserts.

  • Author

Not feeling them at the mo think I'll be removing it and going with a smoked style. Or maybe black inserts. Just having the bottle to split the headlight.

  • Author

Well removed the yellow tint today and bought some flyeyes to do the front lights with, hopefully will get it serviced tomorrow. Got tyre issues as well slow puncture on the rear and spare is f&£ked. Will be popping to my mate at easy fix tyres in Hull to get it sorted.

  • Author

Plugs, oil and filter changed today not done the flyeyes or fuel filter. The thing that really is doin my head in is the knock/boing from the rear springs as you can see they're catching.

anyone else having a problem like this let me know.

  • Author

Well tracked down the problem and as volvomeg said the top coil on the O/S/R has opened up and dropped the height by 1cm so knocks on the body and rubs on the lower coil. The other side has started to do the same. To say I'm pi$$ed is an understatement, they've only been on for 1 month  :wall:  also if you look at the pic of the rear spring perch you can see I'm not running low at all. Gunna send these pics to Damian a DPM this is not the kind of quality I was expecting I mean do FK make these springs out of chocolate or what?  :giggle:

This is the good spring note the measurement - 6.8 cm

This is the stretched side - 7.2 CM

See how the top coil on the stretched spring is rubbing on the next coil down causing a serious noise  :@

This is the good spring - 22.9 cm

This is the bad spring - 22.4 cm

I know its only 5 mm but when it's got the car on it it sits 1 cm lower than the other side and knocks like mad. Like I said not running low this is the spring perch.

Anyone got a spare spring for my broken N/S/F so I can get this FK Crap off the car and keep it running so the missus doesn't kill me.

  • Author

Email sent to dpm performance and they've forwarded to FK so just waiting for response. Hope it's quick car looks odd with stock springs on the rear and coilovers on the front. Drag racer style. Lol.

Will get some tomorrow as it'll be dark when I finish work tonight.

Still not taken any pics of the weird ride height sorry tactical 87, but got the fly-eyes on the front and my sfs supersize tip done.

The TIP fitting was a joke, absolute nightmare to fit the jubilee at the turbo end but gotta say the improvement is defo worth it spool up is way better and pulls hard all the way to the red line. If your not handy with the spanners don't attempt this its a right pain, cuts and grazes guaranteed. I'll add some pics of the tip its truly massive compared to the standard 2 piece metal rubber combo.

I'm also working on the ambient lighting using some SMD strips a mate gave me, did the first one today in the drivers side but was getting dark so will finish off the others tomorrow hopefully.

The pic doesn't do it justice TBH its massive and was a very tight fit.

On another subject my faulty rear springs are on their way back from Germany should be here today so will fit them tomorrow and drop the full lot going super low this time

Any way couple of pics just for the sake of it this is with standard rear springs.

And rob and the guys at elite are ok,don't know much about the remaps though.

Looking forward to the super lows too ;)

Oh and I saw your car pass by the ketch meet last night so guess you was busy?

  • Author

That was the missus we'd all been at dentist then she was out later in it, said she'd seen you's all at the ketch on her way home. I will make it there for next month. Looking forward to dropping it properly tomorrow. Just hope these replacement springs aren't made of chocolate like the last set.
