I had both wishbones replaced for my MOT on my vrs since then the feel seems a little vague from 11 o'clock to 1 o'clock and the steering wheel struggles and jerks back straight when manoeuvring at slow speeds.

Mechanic has rechecked everything and says its ok, any ideas.

Just std wishbones are fitted

Had the tracking done since?

ball joint things secured correctly with 3 bolts per side correctly?

 

Otherwise tracking would be my first guess.

Did the garage fit the wishbones? They shod have done the tracking as part of the job

As mbames says check the 3 bolts on the ball joint, seen this problem twice on the forum in the last 18months.
