Should I buy this car?

Featured Replies

Hello Skoda owners.

I am thinking of buying a fabia and need some advice. On my searches I found a 2001 1.9 Diesel, but It has 210.000 Miles

It is a big engline with low BHP, which should make it last quite long, but that is a big amount of miles.

What do you guys think?

Hmmm, that's a lot of miles. Me personally would avoid. Got a link or any details about it?

Should be fine, good for 300,000 anyway.

For £700 (even less once you haggle) you don't have anything to loose. Even if it fails come MOT, you can scrap it and get nearly half your money back

Buy on condition and history not age and miles.

Hmm......if it had a years MOT left it might be worth a punt. But it's only got 6 months MOT left, and you may have to scrap it then.....still cheap motoring but then you might have to spend a bit between now and MOT time to keep it on the road.

It's a bit of a gamble IMHO. It could turn out to be a peach of a car that runs great with minimal trouble, or it could be a complete dog and money pit. The engine is certainly good for mega miles, but I wouldn't say that about the rest of a Fabia.

I imagine it's out of Warranty

Having been to this garage before, to view a car.......................I would avoid at all costs, the sales person.................. sorry I mean, scruffy little leper that got all excited seeing his next victim, walk through the gates, was rubbing his hands shouting " mate mate....... you've come to the right place, for a deal today" while walking towards me. With that greeting and seeing the car I was viewing had a flat tyre, even though id asked on the phone, was it ok to take it out for a test, I turned and walked away
