  • IMO the fabia mkII needs a drop to look its best   The Monte is a looker anyway, but just a bit too much arch gap   Some lowering springs wont break the bank and you can put it back to standard in

All looks good to me.

Glad I bought all my bulbs over a few days.....I didn't want to know the total! SWMBO would not be impressed.

The indicator bulbs are the right ones and are good but the cheaper ones are just as good when it comes to filament bulbs.

Let me know what you think of the w5w bulbs as I'm planning to change mine again

You don't think its worth paying the extra for the Phillips indicators then? I just thought they would be more reliable.

As for the w5w ones, I was going to get the ones you linked to (buy two, get one free) but the listing has ended.

I didn't buy Phillips bulbs and they have been fine, but it's a personal choice.

The w5w look spot on, I would use them myself, the fourth could replace the bulb in the boot if you wanted

Doh! The seller of the side lights has got back to me and said the last ones they have left are faulty! So, back to the drawing board on those? Any ideas on some alternatives?

I've.

taken a punt on some 7W bulbs but there is no claim they are error free.

Either of these 2 look any good to you? I like the aesthetics of the second ones

Did the 7w ones arrive?

Still need to order some different side lights

No bulbs yet, will keep you posted :-D

They look decent.

Mine are coming from Hong Kong so big of a wait.

The 30w H11 bulbs came today and look decent, will have to wait for dark to see how much light they give out.

I can't keep up with you jonro2009 at some point you'll have to sit down and list what normal bulb you have replaced with what LED as I'm finding it difficult to follow

Are you getting any canbus error issues with any of them? and did your car suffer from the low set dipped beam on delivery?

I live in London so I haven't had to venture out in the wilds yet so can't tell if mine need adjusting or not yet?

Superdon,

Just be CAREFUL and not drop the bulb inside the headlight!

That's good news you'll soon be one of the Black Edition crew :)

Yep, not too long now. Yours still all good?

Will do!

Yes thanks, only done 162 miles so far though so just getting used to it, will be baptising it with a day trip to France at the end of the month, expect the low dipped issue will prevent the need for fitting beam deflectors

Don't bother with beam benders, the lights have another shutter type action to do it for you! It's a small lever inside the light housing next to the H7 bulb. It moves up and down to flatten the beam off.

I don't suppose you have a picture/diagram, I don't know about yours, my owners manual doesn't even show the headlights fitted to the Monte Carlo Tech let alone any levers

I'm guessing that if you are doing that you may as well change the bulbs whilst you are at it!

The manual is less use than an ashtray on a motorbike!

The space is too small to get a camera shot.

If you remove the rubber cover for the headlamp and still stand in front of the car, reach in and to the left of the bulb housing, you should feel a vertical piece of thin metal that you can slide up and down.

That's the best I can do bit I will have another try at getting a picture done

Thank you for the update, sounds promising, I had a similar arrangement on a MINI with factory fitted HID's much easier to do thought as the headlamps raised with the bonnet on the 1st Generation BMW Mini's!

Been looking at the shipping maps, and the boat my car is on is going to be docking at Grimsby in the next half hour. So, i'll give the dealer another nudge tomorrow.

Another question about coming home lights. I have read somewhere you can flick the full beam or something to activate them? Is that right and does that still need VCDS coding? Coming home lights are really useful for us and something we will miss.

I tried to get them activated through VCDS and once that is done flash your lights with ignition off and they should work, but mine didn't :(
