sliver vrs black wheels.

Featured Replies

Anyone got a pic of a silver octavia vrs an estate if possible with standard black wheels. (Neptune's) really tempted to go down the black grill, mirrors and wheels route just not sure if it would suit a silver car though?

I know it's not black, but to give you an idea, here are mine in anthracite.

Mine on black wheels, although neither an estate or stock wheels.

These are now high gloss silver and IMO look much better.

Not bad. I think a picture doesn't do justice sometimes. Where you both happy when you did the colour change?

Yeah, I much prefer it over the silver. Here's another.

No I thought black was a pain in the ass to keep clean - mine were satin and looked dirty all of the time.

I had them redone silver and think they suit the car better.

I think silver wheels look soo much better. Nice to see a car and see shiny wheels that stand out

What do others think.?

Yeah, I like the shine from silver alloys.

I love the polished finish on the Scout alloys but it isn't very durable.

I like black alloys but they have to be wrapped in tyres with tyre black on them.

The cars pictured in this thread look good, but they are clean, most with blacked tyres.

When the wheels are blacker than the tyres it makes the car look dirty to me...

As I've said on other threads, black wheels don't do anything for me at all. Silver all the way for me

+1 me too

For me it depends what colour the car is - with a light (silver/white) car then IMO you need wheels that contrast with the bodycolour. Silver wheels on a silver car is not a good look as far as I'm concerned.

Noba's car above looks awesome on those gunmetal coloured wheels - certainly does not look dirty in my eyes.

02p etc.

Bloody cheek! :)

I was never a fan of black wheels on a car, and I was still not convinced about the look when I ordered my Blackline (in fact I was tempted to ask the dealer to swap them for a silver set from a standard vRS in the showroom), however I have to admit that the look really has grown on me - so much that on the vRS the silver now seems a bit "plain" to my eye.

I'm sure that the black wheels is just the latest fashion and will be outdated again before too many years have passed, but I like them.

i was hell bent on repainting my neptunes anthracite when i got my yellow mellow.

however the silver has grown on me, and i feel the silver compliments the yellow nicely.  got no plans to change color now :)

Cheers for them pics Jr rs. It also has a black grill. Goin off the idea a little bit now. I want to make my silver vrs a little different but not to sure how!

Bright orange! That will different, stop following the trend and start one.

I would do something you like, Photoshop is an amazing bit of kit for getting a preview/look at an idea.

Is photoshop easy enough to use? A subtle difference I'm after. Oh I don't know might just make sure it's always clean and polished, sometimes a clean car stands out more then a modified one

you know i'm a big fan of your car j0hn :)

That's more like it!! :)

Silver is the best rs colour to go with black wheels IMO, compliments the car perfectly. the yellow one above wud go with either such a cool colour for the car!

Not a Vrs Estate bit still Silver with black wheels:
