Controlling iPod

Featured Replies

His folks as per title looking to see if I can fit a Dension or Connects2 to my columbus unit in my octy mk2 ltd edition .

The car does have a 3.5 jack plug but not mdi and I've been told I would have to cut into the loom to fit mdi .

iPod does not have bluetooth so can't do it that way just want to be able to control it via columbus.

Regards whoosh

I would retrofit the MDI kit. With an MDI loom made up, there's no need to cut anything. Will give you far better control than any of the other offerings.

Then mount the MDI box in a suitable location - glovebox is the easiest in terms of cabling.

Yep, CarSystems is a decent place to go.

Or drop Eddie-NL a PM on here, he might have some options for you. And can certainly make the required loom up for you.

I got an mdi kit from eddie-nl and it came with the required loom so it was just the case of making space to fit the loom behind the columbus.

Its a right squeeze and i ended up putting the mdi box to the right behind the speedo area if you take the top vents off. I then threaded the ipod cable up through the top storage tray and my iPhone plugs in their out of the way and i have full control via the Columbus head unit.

Agreed with all the above.

MDI is great and fitting in the dash top box is the way to go even though its not the OE location.

I've bought from Car Systems pl without issue before and would recommend them.
