205/55/16 tyres going cheap. ***NOW SOLD***

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

This will be a first sale on Briskie for me, I hope this is of interest to someone.

this sale is just the tyres, not the alloys pictured

I recently bought some new winter wheels previously from a Mk I Seat Leon Cupra 16" and 7J 5x100.

The seller wanted to sell the alloys with the tyres attached and I obliged.

These tyres give an overall diameter which is too big for my Mk2 Fabia so I am looking to sell them.

They are 2 x Mohawk M112 and 2 x Firestone Firehawk TZ200, both are budget brands, the Firestone's being better quality than the Mohawks.

All four have circa 6mm tread and appear free from defects. If I was being really picky there is slightly more wear to the outer edges (but minor) on what I presume were the fronts, coming as a result of a moderately powerful front wheel drive car.

These are going for about £15.00 each exc delivery on ebay with 3-4mm tread left, so I will be asking £50.00 for the full set, either collection or meet at short distance from Oldham (my work) or Halifax/Huddersfield (my home) and anywhere Inbetween. Equally I am happy for you to arrange a courier to collect or can come to an agreement on postage via pm.

Will get a couple of pics off the alloys this weekend if possible as I will be installing my winters on the rims.

Delivery via Paisley freight would seem to be £26.00

:hi:

think the only thing they actually fit on in the Skoda stable would be a mk1 Octavia VRS which got 16" Spiders (probably an estate).

Golf's got them as standard though so ebay might be a better bet

Thanks Mate, way to go limit my potential buyers :giggle: , I'm not a 100% who can make these work I'm sure it will depend on the alloys being run and the permitted total wheel diameter on said car.

Advise all interested to check on www.willtheyfit.com +/- 2.5% diameter change from existing wheels is generally acceptable. Always do your own research.

I'm in no rush to shift apart from the space they take up, thought I would give my fellow Briskie members a pop at grabbing a bargain before I throw them on the bay of E.

If I get no bites they will be sent there. :sun:

This is the size for an Octavia MKII on 16' wheels.

I use this size on my Winter Wheels, with winter tyres, on my MKII Vrs (Normally on 18" wheels)

Thanks Mr Finger :)

I acquired 3 full sest of these in the garage off the various sets of 16" spiders and 16" Golf wheels i bought.

Kept them for use on track days but then bailed and decided to part ex them all in against some part worn correctly sized 205/45/16s

Was a fun journey! :D

pmsl, that is LITERALLY what the back of my car looks like at the minute.  The squeaking is doing my nut. sounds like some kind of mouse orgy when I go over uneven tarmac.

The sun is shining on it warming up the new rubber, I actually got a little light headed driving to the garage to have my new winter's swapped onto the rims.

on a more "on topic" note, these tyres are now off the alloys and sat loose in the back of my car ready for collection :)

Would have snapped these but mine are 205/45/16's and I go to Uni at Huddersfield too :(. GLWTS mate

Thanks Dann, appreciated, will remember you're about if anything interesting comes off the car in the near future.

Most likely next I'll have some vRS 288mm calipers, carriers and discs, depends what I buy myself for Christmas

Are these 205/50's then?

  • Author

Nope they are 205/55/16's as per thread title.

Hi , interested in these for the other halves car , what's the best price delivered ? Thanks

  • Author

Sent you a pm sir. Not sure on delivery just yet, be right back.

Provisionally sold

Nope they are 205/55/16's as per thread title.

My bad, checked everything other than the title! 205/55's DO FIT on a Skoda Fabia vRS running 16's as I run this profile for the winters I have.

Hope that sorta helps :)

Mmmm, I always thought that the Fabia Vrs 16" size was 205/45/16 and 195/55/15  if on 15" wheels

It is as standard :)
