cd in mk3

Featured Replies

Not sure if this thread should be here but here goes.............

Burned a cd from i-tunes and its saying once in the car can not read data....use to do exactly the same and my mk2 vrs would play anything so done it again to make sure .....it plays in wifes citigo but not mine....

anybody got a clue why!

CD? What's one of those!? ;)

It depends on how you burn it.

Try using a different method such as a data CD rather than MP3 CD, make sure it finalizes it correctly and burn it slowly.

That's because you need the Mitsumi option to connect an Apple device.

You best bet is to use an SD card IMO.

It should do if you copy it from the iTunes folder on your PC, don't try and do it through iTunes.

What format is the music in?

As said earlier, forget the CD's !!!!

Don't open up iTunes.

Open up internet explorer and find the iTunes folder. Open up - iTunes media, then - music. Drag & drop all the music onto a SD card.

That should work for you :)

Unless the music is in MP3 format then the files will not play, the default rip format for iTunes is AAC (M4A extension) and this unsupported on SD Card and CD. You must alter the iTunes settings to MP3, and perhaps increase the default bitrate to at least 256kbps for best sound quality.

I have my music encoded at 192 Kbps and am happy with the quality that it provides and the amount of space that it saves over 256 & 320 Kbps.

I know the O2 didn't support AAC but would have thought it would be in the O3. It is supported in my S4.

In any case Just copy and then convert the files using a free MP3 converter. Then plonk them on a SD card.

Does that make you a plonker?

Doesnt the O3 SD/USB connectivity support mp4's? ITunes music is in m4a format and works on my SD card on my O2's Amundsen Plus. Is great as can copy music ive bought straight out of iTunes with no cocking about.

the only ones it wont play are m4p files (protected mp4's), anything bought from iTunes a way back when they used to copy protect their files.

if the O3 doesnt play m4a filed ill be disappointed....probably be cause to get the Mitsumi connector as well.

Like I said the best way to play your music is via your BT connection, it's easy to connect wirelessly and TBQH I just use my SGS3 to stream my music to the car and the music player on there shuffles things around beautifully and I have none of the hassles of the shuffle/random play function that I have had in the past with ICE systems not doing it properly.

No probs, glad to help.

Also confirms AAC is supported on the O3 :)
