Centre rear seat head rest

Featured Replies

Please may I request your assistance.

I was out playing with the rear seats and putting them up and down today. I fiddled with the rear seat head rests and noted that the outer ones you can extend upwards but that these didn't come out entirely.

When I came to fiddling with the centre seat head rest I noted that it only extended upwards by a couple of inches and again, doesn't come out.

Can I ask that people check this in their new Octy 3's also as a comparison, particularly the centre one. Should mine being extending higher than 2 inches?

Thanks all

I think you will find that this is because the headrest stems are shorter because of the rear armrest/access hatch into the boot.

Spot on.

Rear head rests can be taken out completely, though haven't done this yet.

In the manual it sounds a bit fiddly, screwdriver required.

I took mine out yesterday (Not the centre one, but the two on the sides)

I pulled them up as far as possible, and then used a screwdriver to get them out. Just a light push with the screwdriver, so no problem.

But whats the point?

Child seats don't fit that well with headrest in place.

Black_Sheep: Sorry for beeing unprecise! I know why you want the headrests off (My reason for removing them was also children seats)

But I don`t see the point of having this securing mechanism (On my previous BMW`s, it was possible to do this without any tools)

Oh b..........r

I use the 3 seat head rests as an alternative dog guard on my Yeti - planning to do the same if I changed to an Octy.

No use if central one rises just a couple of inches - now off to a Skoda showroom to check!

I'm now intrigued. My wife removed the headrests when we picked the car up and:

1. She would not have read the manual.

2. Would not know one end of a screwdriver from the other.

How did she get them out?
