1st Service advice / information

Yeti is due its first service according to the MD, currently sitting at 18,345 miles so in 300 miles or 42 days.

Here's my issue, I can't get my car in this week due to commitments and have to make a journey into Argyll, Friday or Saturday a round trip of 140 miles then Manchester on Sunday a round trip of around around 430 miles. All in I could be around 300 over by the service, would tbere be an issue with this, I usually get my cars serviced early so have no idea whats acceptable.

Also, should I inform the dealer of white worm on the cars badges before the service so they have them in and save a return visit?

Why not ring the dealers and ask about the over-mileage?  however I doubt it will make much difference.

And yes, tell them about the whiteworm so they can order the badges.

Two or three hundred over shouldn't be an issue; like yourself try get the car in before the event but aim to go no more than 500 over if need be.

Thanks all.

Will phone round the dealers tomorrow and get the car booked in for week beginning 11th.

Any idea of cost for a first variable service?

It's a good ideas to phone around as prices, even for service, do vary. My 1st service cost £135.

Was quoted £163 inc vat parts and labour.

Newmarket Skoda.

Telford Carlisle sent me a reminder that my car is due for service. It went in for that service about a month ago. Anyway the letter quoted £129 for first minor service (what I paid on variable with 18000 miles) and £249 for a major service. Inclusive of all parts, labour and VAT.

Booked in with Newmarket next Wednesday, after being quoted £186 by Henry Skoda in Glasgow!!

Still waiting in Newmarket ti come back regards the whiteworm badges, they weren't aware of any issue with them.. apparently.

I'm a bit surprised at this. White worm is not just confined to the Yeti it's across the whole brand and I can only surmise that the dealer has a very small customer base.

I am very surprised. When I telephoned Telfords Carlisle to make the booking they immediately informed me without me asking that the badge was to be replaced regardless of its condition. They said it was a Skoda requirement for them to do so.

I called Skoda UK today regarding this and they confirmed that my car is not on the list for badge replacement, only certain chassis numbers are covered. I have to take it up with the dealer as they stated it may be down to how I wash the car!!!

Service carried out today by Newmarket, £163 inc vat and pollen filter, vehicle health check and washed. Overall I was very impressed with them, really friendly and helpful. They're only 12 miles from my house and I never knew they existed.. they appear to be a small family type garage/dealer which I actually favour over the bright lights of a big dealer who are usually too busy to care.

They swapped my badges over too as they had ordered them in to save me a return journey.

A Rapid courtesy car.. I'll stick with a Yeti although the Octavia VRs caught my eye.
