Bloke at work brought his motorbike in today....

Featured Replies

He races old bikes on weekends, but has his own road bike, which he rode to work today.

It's a Buell Lightening & it looks the dogs! Some nice design features on it as wel. It's basically a street fighter look machine powered by a 1200cc V Twin from a Harley. Belt driven instead of a chain, fuel is stored inside the frame & oil is kept inside the swinging arm (dry sump). The front brake is almost as big as the front wheel but is more like a ring than a complete disc to keep the weight down.

Certainly stands out from the crowd & if I had my bike license & the money, I would seriously consider one.

No pics I'm afraid, as I didn't have the camera with me.

They sound really nice as well and have bags and bags of torque.

Nice bike, very quick steering and nothing like a Harley :D ,

You mean it can stop?

Have a ganders at Fred Warr's for more Buell....mmmmmmmmmmmmm

I ride everyday and have ridden all sorts of bikes, but the Buell is not for me. It`s uncomfortable and not very good in the bends, but there again so is everything the americans build.

What do you ride then?

I do like the look of the Buells , and they sound excellent.

Alas they are a bit out of my budget

A mate of mine has a custom painted one. ****ing great bike, really good fun to ride too.

There is a Harley/Buell dealer not far from me, some meaty sounding bikes there.

At the moment i ride a 500cc maxi-scooter, due to a big off i had 4 years ago, which i left wrist was smashed and now have problems pulling in the clutch lever.

But there are rumours that there`s a 850cc twin scooter coming out, and i`ll get that when it comes out.

There are ways around your problem, i also have a problem with my clutch hand in cold weather so made a left handed throttle that operates the clutch, takes a bit of getting use to but works.

I was in Porthcawl at the w/e and guess what I saw (or should that be eyesore? ;) ) A diesel Harley

Was it for real?
