What temp is your climate set at?

Featured Replies

Four months in, I am still struggling with the climate.

In my mkII I had the climate at 21 and it was great.

On Saturday I had my family in the car. It was 12 degrees out, and my wife was complaining she was too HOT and so I had to turn it down to 19.

Is this something to do with the economy mode settings that are causing this??

They have done a temp test and all is ok (goes to the lowest temp it is supposed to) but I am still not sure if it can maintain the ambient temp properly.

I do spend a lot of time driving around feeling warmer than I think I should be.

Ideas will be appreciated.

So you had it set to 21C but it gave 33C?

Select a temperature at which you both feel comfortable.

The number shown on the dial is merely a guide, with a margin of error.

21 or 21.5 is fine, hardly ever touch it.  It certainly took a lot longer for the cabin to warm up today (my first proper cold day with the car) than the Audi.  Is that down to the Octy3 not having an aux heater?

no, sorry.

the temp on my climate shows as 21 degrees.

the outside temp was showing at 13.

I just feel that although I get cold air, the climate is not keeping an ambient temperature, or I can only think that I need to keep the temp lower on the climate.

when I had a fabia as a loan car a few weeks ago, 21 in that was too cold for me.

I find i set a higher temperature to cooler it get outside, alway have in all my cars. Normally run 21-22C in winter and around 18C in summer.

The number on the display is only relevant if you have the system set to Auto or Auto with Econ enabled. If you have it in manual mode then the display is only indicative of the temperature since the system is working like a standard heater.

My Audi is in full auto mode with the temperature set to 20c.

It is definately set to Auto. Maybe it is just that the MKIII needs the temp set cooler. I will have to set the mode to individual so that I can set the climate to high and see if that changes things.

I have found when i set the driving mode to Eco which puts the climate into Eco my car starts to steam up.....

Auto at 18 in the Octy. Always leave it there, Mrs Dunc & kids happy.

Panda needs to be set at 20 to give same level of heating / cooling.

So, depends on the car I reckon.

Good luck.

Cheers.

My Fabia diesel works best at 22, will have to see when I get the Petrol MKIII

24 for me at this time of year.

22 at this time of year, 18 in the summer.

In the manual it suggests the best temp for auto mode to be 22 for all periods of the year.

I used to put it at 22º in my previous cars but I feel that in the O3 I have to put it at 21º to get the same comfort. Actually I believe the Octy climate control is somehow weaker than my previous Peugeot 3008.

Have you tried to change the climate profile in the AC setup menu ? You can choose between low, normal and intensive.

19 all year round in my mk2

Silly Q maybe but on my mkII I the light on the AC button on the right has to be lit for the aircon to work, so is it the same for yours?

If you read page 102 of the manual it explains all.   I set mine to 22c as suggested but have turned it down to 20.5c as it was too warm compared to my previous OctyII which was fine at 21c.

Thanks everybody. Looks like general concensys is that a lower temp is required in mkIII

Why have one temperature in the summer and another in the winter? Surely the temperature on the inside the car is the temperature!

I just leave mine at an indicated 19 all year round, whether driving in the snow, or on a 38C day in the French alps.

I used to have my yeti set at 21 but like you I find that's to warm in the O3, so it's running at 19 on auto.
