Carbon fibre or no carbon fibre....

Recommended Posts

Hello all, Just wondering if many people have played around with wrapping carbon fibre (both inside or outside). I have been toying with the idea of getting the trim of my white MKII FL octy VRS wrapped since I got the car a few months ago as I'd done it in a previous car (Seat Leon) and was more than happy with how it looked. However my biggest decision is whether to 'push the boat out' and have the roof done aswell, again I've seen this done on other cars and been very impressed with the finished article so I'm kind of swaying towards having it done.

Hmmmmm decisions decisions, any pictures/feedback would be great !!

Ye true, that has also crossed my mind, sounds like you've got something interesting lined up. Any clues ?? There are so many different materials to wrap cars now it's crazy, leather Ferrari is up there but not to sure if it would have the same effect on a VRS or not.....probably not haha.

To be honest I'd probably take it to a specialist aswell, although saying that I took it to 'just car clinic' which is a pretty well established company to have the windows tinted only to be told 4 hours later that they couldn't do it on a skoda octavia. I definitely wasn't impressed!!!

I'll be taking mine to d2detail in Loughborough for wraping. It's not something I've got enough pations for. I can't get a screen protector on the iPad without bubbles.

There's going to be a few over laps which makes me wonder how well it would turn out.

Worth searching. I've seen pictures in the forum of wrapping the internal silver trim that looked quite good. Externally... not for me.

Good buddy. Would take a pic but my cars going to be with skoda for a while to get oil issues sorted. I bought one of the precut sets but felt it didnt cover enough of each part, especially the fan surrounds. So i bought some of ebay. Like a 5er for the whole dash.

the paint on my spoiler is ruined so I've been toying with wrapping (professionally not by me) thought about doin the whole spoiler and just doing the main piece in the centre and leaving the ends blue. seen the latter on an R34 in blue.

would be interested in seeing someone else's already done

Here's a few pics for you guys, my spoiler wrapped before I refitted it to the vehicle, :)

There WILL be joins as it's very complex piece, a competent wrapper will place the joins in areas you will not see.

Any questions, please ask, prestige vehicle wrapper 5+ yrs experience, 3m approved so not a lot I can't answer :)

Also, look me up on instagram for more pictures of my work. @vinylimage
